Why can't we mute ping spammers?

I'm sure this has been brought up before, but I still can't believe this isn't an option.

To some extent i can see why we cant mute pings. If you mute someone and then on top of that mute their ping, then you can report them for not communicating, but that is only because you muted them from all types of communication. While Azure is correct about lowing the sound. There should at least be a way lower individual ping. Dont get me wrong spamming is annoying and reportable. If they cannot let us Mute ping, then make people who do spam it at the very least wait longer than normal especially if they continue to spam. Then again what is consider spam? usually ill ping 3 times. i use to only ping once, but a lot of people apparently done see/hear it and i would get hated on for no MIA/Ping, when i show them i did, they would always complain that you should do it more than once.

its a gray area on this one. basically there are 2 arguements. first is about the ping spam so we want to mute them but the other is that if they are just being offensive, but they are still willing to use pings responsibly, then its bad. The best answer is to have a seperate mute for pings and chat, but still idk if its a good idea

I'd really love an option to mute pings from a user. I had this one game where someone was pinging 5-6 times every few seconds for twenty minutes straight but there was nothing to file the report under. Nearly made my ears bleed!

I report hoping it gets noted somewhere in the game logs?

Although I am pretty convinced the process is so automated at this point that Riot is simply punishing the bottom X% of the community continuously.
