So I was playing this ranked game and wasn't doing too well, but I saw Brand make a few mistakes that I thought I might help him with. So i literally said, "hey dude, try stun after the Yi Q's". Then later on he lands an awesome Q on the ulting Yi and kills him and I'm like "ns brand" (nice shot), coz I thought that was pretty cool. Then after the game he goes on to tell me why I was so toxic to him and blames telling him he cant do shit and I was like tf, what is this about? and then he says "remember when you said nice stun? assh*le". And I'm like "yea..? I complimented you? and ns=nice shot"... Then proceeds to report me...

Is this really what league had become now?

Sadly some people feel like any type of criticism means you are toxic. This is why I try to write everything out. What I've learn from playing any kind of online game is that people will almost always see it the wrong way. That's just how toxic this game has become. People can't see compliments because more often than not the people who do send them are doing it in a condescending way.

All I'll say is you didn't do anything wrong. People can report you for whatever reason. But it doesn't mean a damn thing if you didn't actually break any rules. The report you got isn't going to do anything. The system would check your chat and see you did nothing wrong so like I said I wouldn't worry about it!

Just keep playing and give off those positive vibes!

A rule in communication; it's not what you say, it's what they hear.

Invalid reports do nothing.

Yeah, because the community has been babied. Report function is freely used on anyone for any reason without any limitation. You are not allowed to say any bad words or call people names, so everyone is passive aggressive. And because everyone is passive aggressive anytime someone actually makes a nice comment, people assume it is just you being sarcastic.

Well, it probably won't change anything for you, and I don't even play on NA, but I think it's generally a good thing that you try to give advice to people, and I hope you will keep doing it despite your bad experience.

This dude was obviously a complete idiot, but I personally, as a beginner, love it when people give me advice or point out something I could do better or should have done, as long as it's not done in a completely toxic manner.

Hell, I'll even tolerate mild toxicity if someone points out a mistake that I otherwise would not have detected. It's by having people tell me "why no SS ????" in several games that I learn the importance of pinging "missing", and now I do it every game. Had nobody bothered to tell me anything, even if it's because they're afraid I would be offended, I would have never learned that it was important to signal to your teammates that your opponent is missing during the laning phase.
