What Happened To The Community?
I've played League of Legends since 2010, so just a little over a year since its release, and I enjoyed the game a lot for over half a decade. The community was alright, it had its occasional toxic player who would eventually get disciplined in the Tribunal which was awesome, and something that was proactively done not seen before in other multi-player games. But what happened to that community? What happened to the players who would explain counters or build suggestions in-game? Yes we got online guides up to our ears in that but where did the helpful players go?
Hell, if you get countered in lane phase and ping for help or god-forbid ask in chat, most of the team either ignores you or you get those toxic players that seem to be everywhere now flame you down to the point it kills the will to play and belittle you to the point that you get anxiety each time you look at the League of Legends.exe icon on your desktop. That's just cyber bullying, it ain't right, plain and simple.
Speaking of those toxic players, how did they multiply so much over the years? This game almost feels like we're playing DoTA 2 and that's the only other online community I've found in gaming that's WORSE than League of Legends. I know it sounds silly and redundant but will Riot do anything to address the growing toxicity that has been expanding like a cancer in the community in the past 8 years? The Tribunal isn't working, the population growth of toxic players is proof of this.
Anyway, that's my rant, I'm leaving League because it's no longer something that was enjoyable and fun. Downvote me if you want, ridicule me, flame me, be toxic with all your comments after reading this post. Go ahead.
You're just proving my point further.
Ciao.
