I'm sick of Riot's inconsistent methodology when it comes to punishing toxicity

Dear Riot,

You do a fantastic job at refusing to punish players who commit the same toxic deeds as other "toxic" players, but for some reason are never reprimanded like the "toxic" players. For example, five to six months ago I was given a two week ban for simply using the term "%%%". Not chat restriction, but straight to a two week ban because there is a Zero Tolerance policy for that homophobic slur. I understand what I did was wrong and I haven't used the term again. HOWEVER, the last two times I have reported someone for using that exact phrase there hasn't been ANY instant feedback at all (the second time I actually recorded the match and the report as evidence). Which is absolutely preposterous. Inconsistent, I'd say.

How is it that I can be banned for using a Zero Tolerance word, but another player can somehow freely use it without punishment? It is unfair to me and every other player that has to play this limiting game. I post this because I hope to see that I'm not the only one who has been mistreated in this way. Please give me thoughts and opinions on this matter.

You do not always get the instant feedback report when a player is punished. It's something I wish the system were more clear on, frankly. That sort of behavior is very accurately and consistently punished, and you're simply not always alerted that it has been.

I have only seen instant feedback a single time. Just because you don't see it, doesn't mean it didn't/won't happen.

This inconsistency only encourages people to be more toxic.

Then people are surprised when they get banned for doing something that they've seen everyone else do without any punishment feedback.

It's not inconsistent. People who say that just doesn't understand how the system actually works.

I find it funny how you have evidence against this player, yet the mod only has his word. How the hell does the mod have more support?

I'm pretty sure only the last people to report get the message.

You were probably reported by a premade group, so you were punished. But you reported someone as a solo player, so the report was flagged as a false positive. Premade groups are supposed to gang up and blame the solo player for the loss. That's the true reason for reports, not language that can easily be muted. Working as intended.

That's exactly why players like us have to defend ourselves from toxic players who START the fights. Instead WE are the ones getting punished. I explained this to riot employees about my chat restriction for simply arguing with a person who STARTED the fight and told them that I did what I had to do to teach them a lesson and also because I realised league does not punish people who actually deserve it.

I know the more reports a person gets in a single game - the more riot will review it.

Honestly...i'm not surprised anymore.

A company who's leading PB figure was a psycho toxic controllfreak up till just a year ago was meant to have stupid faults somewhere in the trace he left.

Riots Player Behaviour system has flawlessly had scandals every year at least once. This year it was churro, last year lyte, the year before thar mark marrill's argues and so on.

How should we trust a company to deal with our immaturity if they cant even handle their own?

All I learn from these boards is that nobody knows shit about how the punishment system works. Fix every facet of your broken ass system riot. Stupid snowflake company.

They only punish (with automated bots) some keywords that potentially could have some legal consequences; basically, only "k..." People can insult and don't get banned for sure, and I'm even sick to report that. Of course the community gets worse without any moderations, so I think it's on Riot.

and this, dear riot, is why your feedback system sucks ass. this player AND MANY OTHERS LIKE MYSELF are fucking frustrated. we have the feeling that you dont punish ppl.

just give us THE FUCKING OPTION

  1. ALWAYS show feedback message if one of your reports lead to a punishement in the last 24 hours.
  2. SOMETIMES show feedback ~~~~~
  3. NEVER show feedback~~~

it is that fucking simple. if the 1. option would be standard, you'd legit have 80% less ppl complain that "you dont do anything against toxic ppl". rito pls.

Um, just looking match histories, he's played multiple games every single day and that Lucian game with you as LB... looks like that was his last game and he hasn't been playing for the last 2 days.

Looks like he's 2 days into his 14 day ban.

As someone who would prefer never to hear that word again, let me say: I agree with you. If you got banned for saying it, and you don't want to say it anymore, then I'm furious that there are other people who clearly don't give a %%%% still saying it and not receiving the treatment that you received.
