I got banned for being called a %%%got who didn't want to play a game where I was being flamed?

A few days or so ago I played a game of ranked, trying to teach a friend the game. My jungler/top wanted to do Yi Kayle, Yi got taken so the jungler picked Jax except for the fact he forgot smite. Now most of the time this should be a losing factor in games IMO, because unless your team has a big advantage already your junglers going to have way less presence in ganking lanes as well as most likely not being able to contest baron again unless your team has a big advantage (such as a fed Caitlyn).

As much as I understand I was toxic, what I don't understand is why I was punished but the Jax/Kayle weren't when they were flaming me all game.

I said that all of the flaming I did was in retaliation to previous flaming, not that I wasn't toxic.

Retaliation is never ok. You have to realize that when you stoop to their level, you add to the negative experience for your other 3 teammates.

Mute them and report after the game, that is the only acceptable solution in Riot's eyes.

EDIT: Also, you have no way of knowing if they were chat restricted for their behavior, the only thing you could conceivably check is if they got banned, since you could tell if they stopped playing for a while. They probably got a restriction, because acting like that doesn't go unnoticed.

I do. I reported both of them and I didn't get a notification indicating that they were punished.

How was I flaming hard? Sure I had a lot of negative comments, but I used 0 racial/homophobic slurs and only retaliated from an insult with an insult.

This is evident that your attitude was so bad that you provoked your teammates into calling you words. I'm not saying that guy is innocent. He's still guilty of saying a homophobic slur... but you literally would not shut up and kept antagonizing your teammates. If I had a teammate like you, I'd mute and report you ASAP with no doubt in my mind you getting banned.

Regardless, you are responsible for your own behavior. There was no need to repeatedly say 'the game is over' and 'jax is to blame' throughout the match.

Playing the blame game and arguing only contributes to negativity, and this is definitely punishable according to the Summoner's Code.

Your time would have been better spent strategizing or working with your team to determine the next best play to make in order to try to gain an advantage or win the game.

I was simply referring to the fact he had no smite, and not the fact that Jax didn't gank... Also don't understand my simple comment of "my friend was gold 5" got 2 downvotes LOL

It doesn't really matter what you blame him for, the fact is that you are blaming and accusing. This is negative and unhelpful regardless of the reasons for it.

I suspect that it had to do with missing the point, but I wouldn't know, I didn't vote. Here I'll upvote to counter one of them.

Lmfao wtf is this logic. If someone fucks up then it's natural you'd point out where they fucked up, this is how experience is gained.

Now it depends on elo but naturally jungler not taking smite results in a 100% loss, as in LITERAL 100%. The fact that the enemy team in this particular situation had better lategame is even irrelevant at this point.

Also from what I understand he was talking to his friend not the other guys but they still decided to provoke him.

While being toxic makes the game difficult to play what Jax did made it impossible to win. Although I agree OP was being actually toxic by saying "ur fucking garbage" but if I were him I woulda told the Jax to straight up hang himself, OP was being gentle XD

They said way more rude things to me. I was called a %%%got, you know how rude that is? It's used as a insult to homosexuals, and even with all the acceptance we have in this modern day people on the internet are still so inconsiderate. I understand what ReformedWhiteMan is saying, albeit I wouldn't wish it upon the Jax in real life Jax screwed the game over with not taking smite and thus flamed me for teaching my friend what a lost game is. As ReformedWhiteMan said, I was talking to my friend, the Sivir and not saying "Jax you forgot smite your bad". It was only when I refered to Jax while speaking to Sivir that he started really flaming me. Before that he would make remarks like "I was 200 health after doing raptors" when he was about level 5 and had a plentiful amount of health before doing that. This was all going on while I was being dove mid lane by three people.

However, all that aside it is never ok to harass teammates. It doesn't matter who started it. It's your responsibility to mute the player and not cross that line.

Yeah, so that's the thing. Given the fact that Jax completely ruined the game by himself yet didn't admit his mistake and had the ball to actually trash talk it's very common that I'd be inclined to tilt them back as much as I could, but that doesn't mean it's an actual death threat that should be taken seriously, to me it's in the same category as telling someone to "fuck off" or to "go fuck themselves. Sure, using the term to curse people who made a mistake might slightly offend them but how it'd offend a troll who derives joy from baiting/insulting people constantly.

As a matter of fact before visiting these boards little did I know this term is that big of a deal, never took it seriously or reacted to it seriously, the fact that league's community consists of mainly sensitive e-girls is something i'm not going to adapt to.

Off-topic, throughout 6 years of playing Blizzard games (specifically wow) such terms are actually rather trivial and laughable there, so I don't see what the fuss is all about at.

League is a lot more competitive than WoW. Stress levels are higher and people tilt harder. Also you are required to play with whichever players the matchmaking system gives you, there is no "leaving the party" as an option because you are punished for doing so. All this combined means that harassment hits a lot harder in this game.

Fun fact, tilt is actually the same thing as emotional flooding. It's the same concept as when children can't stop crying even when they forget why they were crying in the first place. The emotions (and stress) course through the person's conscious overtaking all rational thought. You're right, most rational people wouldn't take you seriously if you told them to kill themselves, but a person who is running purely on emotions is not going to react rationally to anything. By saying "kys," you directly exacerbate their suffering.

You might say, "good, they deserved it." But that's not really the point here. It's not your place to enact justice and vengeance for yourself on them for ruining your game. Report them and leave them in Riot's hands.

Two wrongs don't make a right, it doesn't matter what the Jax did. You should never turn around and stoop to their level.

It doesn't matter what you think of what you say, it's how it is received. The possible impact of saying such a thing - if the person receiving it were unstable - would be unacceptable.

It is your responsibility to not take that risk with a player of unknown background and mental health. You interact with them for less than an hour of your life, you have no idea what they are like outside of that hour. You can't make an accurate assessment of a person from such a short interaction with them.

A late game Jax could still beat a Yi late game and as you said you could have won despite Jax forgetting smite. Him not ganking while the enemy ahead was expected. When someone forgets smite no one gets ganks because the jungler needs items. You're supposed to be playing under tower and not feeding the enemy any kills.

As for toxicity you were heavily griefing before anything was said. Griefing is reportable. Sure the others were retaliating but we don't know if they were punished or not, however you did help to incite it.

But a Jax that is behind due to forgetting smite isn't gonna be able to counter gank 3 mid. It sounds like you wanted him to die. If bot came mid your bot should have either pushed or followed. Either way when a jungle forgets smite the only thing you can do is let him farm and try not to die at all.
