Calling People "Try Hards" after losing?

I just finished an ARAM game. We lost, the other team had a lot of CC and Veigar one shotting people XD. But that's how it goes sometimes in ARAM, get over it. Two players on my team started being toxic to the other team, calling them "try hards." What is the logic? To those of you on the boards who do the same thing. You get beat, so your insult is the other team is try harding? They must be losers, they are trying to win the game.

I don't get it... Is that an actual insult that is supposed to bother a winner?

"Tryhard" is such a playground insult. Somebody loses, so they insult somebody for... trying harder than them?

No, I am afraid I am a try hard myself. I try my hardest to win until the nexus goes boom.

That's not even toxic or offensive. And it's less annoying than having a Yasuo in either team.

To me this is essentially the counterpart to "gg ez", in that I understand why people might feel that way, but I really don't understand why people feel the need to express it.

Honestly, rarely but I have before. My friends and I will play stupid shit in normals, ryze jg, riven supp, me playing adc, that kinda stuff. If the enemy goes nuts (constant invades, multiple 5 man bots) against already suboptimal stuff that we're just having fun with, then yea the word is gonna be thrown out. Like, we've got a bard adc, you really don't have to do a full team rotation in a normals to shut him down.......

If the game is 30-60 in kills and i let your nexus live 3 times so i can kill u again and then you get an ace and rush kill all my buildings and say "GG EZ" when zero players on your team have a positive score I'm calling you a tryhard because that is the truth. That is the right I earn by playing for kills and not for win in a fun mode.

The way I see it is in ranked, there is no such thing as try hards, or sweaty people. You should be trying your absolute hardest to beat the enemy as fast as possible.

In norms and rotating game modes though? have some fun.. don't play whats strongest, just because its strongest.. Don't camp a lane into the ground or afk split push all game.

It's just boring, and you get literally NOTHING for winning like that.

One of my favorite memories involving this is the One for all game mode.. We picked something like udyr, and the enemy picked heimerdinger (who is nearly impossible to beat in One for All). So all 5 members of my team sat in base and let them push towers until the game ended.

No one had fun that game because they went try hard in champ select of a rotating game mode lol.

I used to. But not any more

I think some people just need something or someone to blame if they lose. Lost lane? The jungler didn't gank enough. Got killed? Teammates fed. Dragon got stolen? Support didn't ward enough.

But if you realize that none of your teammates are to blame, it has to be the enemies fault.

Hmm thats a tricky question: I would need to say both Yes and No. I usally somemtimes thing it but i never would write it.

Sometimes when I am playing with friends I say it out of tilt. (Via voice to my firends, not in chat!)

What I usally thing is: You are playing a tryhard base game so why complain about tryhard?
