Recently for the past 2 nights, I got 3 games with afkers forcing me to get demoted from plat 3 to plat 4. I don't really have a problem because I can get back, but I was just wondering if other plat elo players experience the same thing. I play at night because I am in school. Not sure if the time of day makes any difference.
I'll put it like this.
You have bronze, which is the bronze of gold. You have silver which is the silver of gold, and you have gold which is the gold of gold.
Then you get to platinum, which is the bronze of masters. Diamond, which is the silver of masters, and masters which is the gold of masters.
Ranked has 3 ladders. Low rank (bronze, silver gold) High rank (platinum, diamond, masters) and challenger, and you are now in the bronze of high rank.

I've gone through that elo many times and I'd say you are much more likely to find 1 person rq. From losing lane than anything else. Sure it's extremely unlucky for you but I don't think it happens too often.
The thing I hate the most is when one person bm's someone else who is doing fine and maybe made a mistake, but then that other person stops trying and trolls and then the guy who started it gets tilted and defeatest and you basically have 2 players soft inting the rest of the game until you lose. I've seen this situation from both sides and decently frequently in my elo p1-d5
Platinum isn't a very fun elo. TBH none of them are. There's too many issues with matchmaking. I can't say for diamond+ as I only got to plat 1 52 lp (which, ironically, had significantly fewer people in it than Diamond 5 that season), but every elo has so many problems. People who are frustrated after a string of bad matches but keep playing to try and prove to themselves they have control and get angry fast. Then they express that anger in chat and get punished and treated like garbage simply for being upset about something they care about.
At night you are probably going to have more drunks and stoners online.
