Chat Ban - Most Toxic Players in LoL

There's an abundance of one particular type of player. I think these are the most toxic players because they cause others around them to become toxic.

It's the type of player that if you die, or do something that they dont like, they immediately go into the /all chat and type something like "this Morgana..." or "my team is garbage! I cant carry these losers." It's like, calm down. You're Zed and your opponent is Teemo. You got lucky with the matchup and suddenly you think you belong in diamond.

I would also like to make it clear right now:

  • I never flame anyone for a mistake.
  • I never get upset if my team is losing.
  • I never others because the responsibility is on me just as much.

Maybe in my head but never in the game.

My problem is that I just can't help myself when a(usually bad) player just starts flaming me out of nowhere. It makes me just not want to play any more and I don't even care if we win.

I'll give you a scenario:

I'm Blitz support with adc Miss Fortune and it's early laning phase. Ive landed about 5 hooks which MF failed to take advantage of. But hey, it could be my fault. Maybe I'm not hooking at the right place or at the right time.

Some time goes by and 2 more hooks has given MF 2 kills and we are ahead.

Then the enemy JG, ganks MF twice in a row even though there was a ward...and then it starts.

Miss Fortune: /all this Blitz is crap

So yes, I do say things back. I go out of my way not to be a toxic person and I never start any fight or argument, but I can't help it when someone else keeps chatting crap about me.

And now I have a chat ban. In the logs that they show, Riot completely ignores what what happening to me and went straight to my retaliation. Which by the way contained no profanities or anything offensive other than about the way MF plays.

The MF even added me to friends afterwards to laugh about it to me, which is also pretty sad and pathetic.

Okay, so fine. Maybe I deserve a chat restriction. It's not like didn't do what they said I did.

But the point that I'm reiterating is that anyone can be a toxic player if pushed too far. But Riot should be targeting those players that cause the rest to become "toxic" as opposed to targeting everyone.

If you're being cordial and some jerk comes and punches you in the face, then you punch him back and a fight breaks out, should the cops really arrest and charge both of you? Even worse, should they just arrest and charge you?

That's all I'm saying. These players are the ones that bring the whole LOL community down.

Thanks for reading, gg

Edit: I'm not actually banned from Chat, just restricted for 10 games. My point was meant to be less about me being penalised and more about bringing attention to the fact that many "toxic" players are not trouble makers but are civil players who have the built in disposition to retaliate to a truly toxic player.

Think about relatively new players to LoL. They don't immediately know about all the things they should do when someone is being toxic towards them. It pushes people away fromt the game. My gf never says anything in chat but she quit playing because she wasn't having fun with people being jerks when she was learning. She didn't know about muting, nor would she want to continue playing with jerks even after muting them.

My other friend is an architect with very little time to play. He plays very casually and doesnt know all the politics of the community. When someone just starts flaming him out of nowhere, he just disconnects and goes back to work, and that freaking sucks and it's annoying. He doesn't play enough or afk enough to ever get penalised. I've told him about this and he said he doesn't care because he doesn't have 40 mins to waste, and this sucks because I hate AFKers but at the same time I understand. It's another example of otherwise decent people being made to be toxic.

People just say press the mute button and I get it. Yes, I should just press mute. But it can be difficult for many people to get berrated by someone else in the chat(especially a bad player taking it out on you) without trying to defend themeselves. I don't think telling millions of players to just mute others is a good long term solution. There should be like a category for people who start a game down the path of flaming and usually causing the team to lose as a result.

This just happened to me. Apparently we should allow someone to punch us in the face and let it happen until we die. Meanwhile, I'll find a game with more reasonable measurements of banning criteria. I'm not chat banned, but I am temporarily put on chat restrictions.

Apparently telling someone to kill themselves is less of an issue than telling someone to stop doing something.

maybe you will learn 1 of 2 things, 1- don't retaliate, 2- use mute if it bother you that much

I personally haven't seen too many people that act like this after one death or something. I personally see a lot more "flame" when top lane is like 0/7/0 by 6 mins and then decides to dive the enemy yet again. Players like that. Players that shouldn't be playing.

i relate with this so much. YOU HAVE TO VIEW THE FULL CHAT LOGS IN THE TRIBUNAL. it is total garbage that your chat is taken completely out of context. getting flamed is incredibly frustrating and hard to not respond to in kind. Im going to argue my side, without the context that it was in I look like the toxic one on my team. Im generally silent besides GJ's or pings until someone starts harassing me.

the worst players in the game of league of legends are the bad players. that means the feeders, ragequiters and afkers. I could care less about what someone types in the chat box but when you start playing badly that's a problem

Nothing going to change cause this is WHAT RIOT WANTS!... How can that be made any more clear?

Riot hired a kid named Lyte... remember him? not very long ago?

That crazy that thought it was acceptable to perform psychological testing on children on video games? What shocks me is no one sued riot... thankfully they FIRED HIM http://www.breitbart.com/big-hollywood/2015/10/20/riot-games-responds-to-concern-over-league-of-legends-player-surveys/ Funny didn't happen too long after either.. http://www.dailydot.com/esports/riot-lyte-leaves-the-company/

His biggest fan webpage, read all about how wonderful this fresh out of college kid lyte is. http://riotlyte.com/

99.9% of riot is ran by SJW's This is their "social experiment" to create a safe space.

https://twitter.com/notch/status/717451202485755906

THE ONLY THING THAT WOULD SOLVE THIS PROBLEM Is if riot was fired and the parent company took over... asian countries don't put up with the sjw nonsense..

[slayer-jinx-catface]

Now peace out... I am going to go laugh at some people who got banned and actually deserved it.

It is that the people retaliating are a reason that people become toxic. They also massively escalate toxic situations. Sure you have the guy jumping on everyone and has something to say about everything. But without someone to go back and forth with it is just that, a few comments. Instead, you get an argument with at least 2/5ths of your team all putting at least some attention on things that aren't win the game.

All these things that just chip away at everyone's enjoyment of the game. Eventually many crack themselves like you seem to have. Then the 9 other people in your game had a little of their enjoyment chipped away. One of them cracks in the next game. And so on and so on. Retaliating just adds more toxicity and significantly amplifies the source.

Stop poking the bear.

How about we just stop playing league because this game is obviously horrible, gameplay wise and community wise of what you get in game and not on the boards, between the boards and the game, board has better community than this god awful game

Billybaroo23147/27/2016, 6:25:27 PM1 votes

I agree with you. The problem is the community thinks it's funny to be toxic and won't say anything, or they say just mute them. As you said muting takes away from team work and hurts overall. I am with you, I don't want to even help them anymore to a win. I had good coaches in sports that if you were the best player on the planet would bench a person (even if hurt team, and cost us the game) to teach them to respect the game. LOL doesn't do that, and the "big EP's and bullies" behind their keyboards have to retaliate somewhere. I am to point, Done with caring about rank. Doesn't prove anything, as the game goes at moment, you can win your lane, push the game, get fed, but if other lanes won't push, won't work together, or feed, it's a loss. 1 person can not carry the game anymore with the snowballing thats happening. I feel you and wish you the best, overall prob muting is best thing, but hey if you don't want to group with them for being toxic, I don't I can always farm or split push another lane. If my team mates won't stand up for me, I don't care if they take the loss also.

Ruin-it likes to treat thier matches like some "Barney and friends" indoctrination lesson. Who cares what -they- did. If you say mean things you might hurt THIER feelings! Who cares that they are going out of thier way to flame you, to light up flame wars. If YOU even say anything back, then you are ruining -thier- experience (completely ignoring that they are trolling thier team or intentionally feeding/sabotating you.

Alot of these people know how to GAME THE SYSTEM. They know how to work it so thier trolling isnt blatenly obvious. So they can say "I am gonna feed the enemy so hard" and then during the match they proceed to feed. But when they get banned they can cry "I wasnt intentionally feeding, you have no proof, I was just having a bad game"

Its doormats like you that get cucked by girls in real life, you need to fucking stand up for yourself, this is cringey.

Sounds like you are getting triggered easily, I suggest you /mute that person triggering you if you can't control yourself.

That is indeed how the chat logs work, as Riot wants you to know that you are responsible for your own actions.

This isn't a trial to see who is innocent or guilty, you were already found guilty by the automated system. It is just providing you with the transcript of what got you punished.

Also, I like it when toxics add me and continue to be toxic, It gives me one more report against tem by submitting that screen shot to Riot support.

If you're being cordial and some jerk comes and punches you in the face, then you punch him back and a fight breaks out, should the cops really arrest and charge both of you?

This is pretty much what happens. If you (or they) have accumulated enough validly reported games , you will be punished. They managed to punish you, so you can have some faith they will punish the others as well.

Now if you don't know what is it you are typing that is punishment worthy, you can post your chat logs here and we can dissect it for you.

I haven't had a game without a toxic player as long as I can remember. This game isn't fun, I'm not sure why I still play.
