Hundreds of hours and dollars wasted.

The location of this discussion seems fitting.

Im well aware i will never recieve a refund, though the physical and health issues that have risen due to this game should be enough for a refund. As a player who does well with a team, terribly in the solo world, and as a member of the community for 6-7 years now i have to say this game has been a huge waste.

I came into this game and its community in season 2, and after watching the esports side ive longed to reach a skill level worthy of esports in league. Ive grinded for 5 years now to get out of silver, and ive spent hundreds of dollars on this game in skins alone. It became a passion and a dream ive wanted to reach... but ive come to realize the health defects that have come about from this game.

I started detaching from reality and basing my ability to progress in life, on my ability to progress in this game. Ive been stuck in silver now for 6 years and have questioned my ability to get any further in life on getting to gold... if i cant reach a goal of gold in a video game, how can i amount to anything? at 22 ive now been diagnosed with chronic depression, axiety, and a decline in my sense of self worth, which has deteriorated my physical health as well. This game is literally killing me....

So to better myself and hopefully remove the negative impact its had on my health, im uninstalling the game. I know devs could care less about the affects of the game on someone, let alone the community itself considering the only part of the community that has come to matter to this company and its developers, is the esports community. Hell the community doesnt even care about the community. this game and its community has become a cash grab and an arrogantly toxic waste of time.

This game could have been so much better, but now it seems to be nothing but a clusterfuck of false hope.

... you do realize that you feeling the way you have isn't exactly something the programmers designed, right? People have unhealthy fixations on all sorts of things, you don't see them blaming coffee mug manufacturers or beany babies.

you need some goals in life if you think the only goal in your life can be a "pro at league " people honestly get this delusion that they all can make it and become a pro gamer and dont realize those who are pro gamers are really really special and good. they are the .001% just like pro football, basket ball etc. and sometimes we arent special and thats ok... find something in your life you can enjoy and achieve at... college, a degree a career, family, marriage, etc there are alot of things to set forth as goals. hell the one this week and be get out of the damn house and go for a walk socialize with people.

if you arent playing the game for entertainment and fun then you are playing for the wrong reasons. and if you are putting any more worth into the game then that then you need to look at life and get shit straighten out.... if you are suffering from mental and physical health problem seek attention for those and get help.

best of luck

If you've invested hundreds of hours/dollars, that means you at least cared enough to play that long. I'd hardly call that a waste.

Many people blame the problems on the game itself, but it's really a matter of self control and knowing boundaries. The problem is almost never the game, it's the player. Attitudes toward the game can change you, but the game itself cannot.

It's okay to have goals set, in fact it's great, so it's totally fine to keep trying to become a pro player. The main thing here is to make sure you have other dreams or goals besides just that, otherwise, your life becomes very meaningless and one- dimensional.

Anyway, I hope you pull through this okay.

just remember the actual point of the game is to have fun and enjoy it.

here is a though about rank...

rank isnt something to be ashamed of. i feel rank is just a way for riot to put players of similar skill levels vs each other so they can have fair games and enjoy and have fun playing the game... hear me out...

you are bronze.. what if every game you matched vs plats and diamonds? and you get stomped up and down the map and the game is no fun to you.. are you likely to keep playing if that is what happens every time?

on the other hand if your plat/diamond whatever "high" elo if you playing vs people lower skill level then you is that fun not every being challenged? it would be like if you were to go play a game co op vs bots or a custom game vs bots and the difficult is set on easy?

how fun is that?

so in theory rank is there to put us vs people we have a chance to win against while being challenged so the game is fun and rewarding at the same time and keeps you playing..

The only way to actually advance if you take it that seriously is move close to a group of friends in a big city, close to Esports and start a competitive team that is really the only way to advance... Otherwise you roll the dice in solo queue and get where you get its random.

Or you know... just get gold?... its not even that hard

first step in solving your problems is learning that none of your problems are riots fault. If it wasnt this game it would of been a different one.

The problem is you
