Disappointed, Tired, and May give up the Game.

So tonight marks one of the several times someone in ranked has chosen to intent and troll with no one caring about it. I understand that this is a game and meant for enjoyment. I enjoy competitive play but this generally takes away from it.

A player choose to deny me cs as I was playing ADC and refused to stop after being asked. Then proceeded to feed or allow me to get killed with no assistance.

Im tired of getting harassed before, during and after game. Im disappointed that these players are still aloud into ranked matches, and it seems like there is no consequences for them doing this.

And to top off the night I get punished for the one time I get upset at someone flaming me.

I don't know but this game has stressed me out this season and thats not what a game should do. The toxicity and the poor sportsmanship make this game almost unplayable at times. even with muting and reporting features.

Hello dear player Kumori86! I understand this number 86 means that you were born at year 1986 and if yes then this means both of us is at the same age. Another interesting thing I see here, is! that sweet level 101 :) you have there. in one word I would like to say "Congratulation" in reaching that level!. Since you reach that point same as me, this tell me you are probably quiet experienced player and you know there is WAR :P going on, right now... on the rift :). God send me here to help you out [me should be sleeping right now 4.14am] :). "THE BEST" solution right now for you that will bring insane effects/improvement to your gameplay and overall satisfaction and vital energy to dominate on the field is... that you stop completely chat about stuff that is unnecessary [you know exactly what is it no need to mention] You chat so much that you would not win those games anyway plus what goes after that lost time and focus = disrupted < this is not who you are you are the CHAMPION AND NEED TO WIN! :) every single game! even if you cant. Sometimes those games you loss its actually win on one or another grounds, need some deeper understanding here ;). Only with this mentality/approach/attitude you will unlock success on your path. . This means you should immediately unchain your mind from any kind of negativity that happened in past game and get back on track, get back to game you Love. Level 100 babe. :). I hope this text helps if not there is few other great things you could do, to recover. I recommend switch lanes, discover new champions, buy new skins or watch imaqtpie videos on youtube/live stream [or others] for relax :). Or just take a long walk do some sports, spend some time with family or friends, enjoy food lot of things to get you boosted.

P.S i've been there, you been there, he's been there, she's been there, we been there, they had been there, they will be there, they might be there right now. ofc talking about chat in game skip that jokes, smile and be happy man get back to game and show them you're the best not in words but in skills, deliver quality gameplay not quality chat. Thank you for your kind words. I actually took a break for a bit before starting up again and am working on climbing. I just remember a time before online games like this where yeah there was trash talking but never the toxicity that ive experienced in this game. And really its been the past 2 seasons its gotten worse. But taking a brief and focusing on myself has helped. I just wish people would not find joy in harassing others.

Well deserved. You complain constantly, you call for reports the entire time as if that accomplishes anything and you insulted your teammates..

Sure it's frustrating to play with angry people flaming. It's your fault though to engage with people like that instead of muting them.

No, it is wrong to let the wrong people know.

The correct way to let someone know is to report them.

It's like complaining to your neighbours in stead of the cops that someone stole your car. Your neighbours might feel sympathy the first few times you complain, but eventually they're just going to get pissed off at you... and they're certainly not going to be able to DO anything about it.

But if you're not having fun, find something else to play for a while. LoL isn't going anywhere... it'll be here when you're ready to come back to it, if that time ever comes.

The issue I have is this, they can do something by reporting the person doing so. But the communities view is that "reporting doesn't do anything", but in games where everyone reports the offender it does. Why do people turn a blind eye to wrong doing?

Also it doesn't show what the other person said to me to begin with. Normally I play the (good little drone) and just mute but I was leaving chat open to communicate with my teammates.

So in my game where my support is literally not allowing me to play the game, I am to say nothing? She made the game unplayable and I asked for her to stop. So I get reported for losing moral... I still played the game I muted her (even though she said nothing), and I tried to play. But I get punished for speaking up against a troll? That feels so awesome.

I agree, but when you get players who will troll/int/not give a shit about the game (not trying to win), it will have a negative impact on you, resulting in negative behaviour.

CoopA826 said that it's okay to rage as long as you keep it outside of game chat, but how is that any different? Just because you don't see toxicity in the chat, doesn't mean there is no toxicity.

In my opinion, Riot should do something to make sure players doesn't have a reason to be toxic (be much more quicker on banning players who will provoke negative behaviour, not just mute (ban) any1 who shows toxicity. Players will continue to be toxic as long as there are people who will provoke it. Right now it feels like you are powerless against people who wants to ruin your game. You can either keep your mouth shut and be obedient little bitch, or speak against it, and most likely get banned, if you don't sugarcoat your complaints.

The reality is that what you're asking for is a LOT more difficult than you seem to think.

I had a game where I went like 1/7/2 a while back. I was trying my best, my team just had no vision and the enemy kept focusing me because I was far behind and easy to kill. Everywhere I went, there were enemies waiting, and my team wasn't trying to get vision. It was a bad game. A REALLY bad game. And the scoreline sure looked like I was inting. I wasn't though. And I bet you've had games that're like that too... where no matter what you do, you just die.

If we simply banned everyone with a bad game, or even multiple bad games, everyone would be banned. Even pros go on losing streaks sometimes. So that's clearly a bad idea... okay, so let's go off reports.

We ban everyone who gets reported for trolling...

Do you know the result of that? Good, honest people will probably be banned before they ever get the chance to report anyone. Why? Because the trolls will just get everyone banned by abusing the report tool. Okay, so we can't do that then.

So what do we do?

Riot tries their best, but it's a lot harder than anyone seems to be willing to realize.

The reality is, negative VERBAL behaviour is a lot easier to track, so it gets punished faster. Similar to how physical bullies in schools get caught much quicker than psychological bullies. The psychological bullying is a lot more subtle, harder to pinpoint... whereas physical bullying is obvious. Bob just pushed John over 3 times. Welp, Bob should be punished.

For the start, ban player like the ones OP described (intentionally denying cs, intentionally died, etc.) I mean, is it that hard to ask the community for help? If they are so unsure how to handle trolls, ask the fucking community what THEY find as an act of trolling, track down the most mentioned methods. Would it be efficient? Maybe not. Would it be much better that the current handling of trolling? Absolutely.

"Intentionally died" is harder to track than you'd think, Bijeesny. Maybe the person didn't intentionally die, but actually lagged at the wrong time, and couldn't turn around in time. Or perhaps maybe their mouse died on them.

"Intentionally denying cs" is also not actually bannable. First of all, just because '0 cs support' is the standard, does not mean a support taking creeps is trolling. That is a meta decision, not a case of 'trolling'. Going against the meta is NOT officially trolling. Riot does not actually enforce the meta.

Maybe that support legitimately believes that them getting enough cs to buy x item is more efficient, or maybe they just legitimately did not have faith in your ability to carry and wanted to have enough money to contribute themselves.

Riot does use community input on figuring out what trolling is - what we choose to report as trolling, over time, influences what they consider trolling. But they will NEVER ban someone for having a bad game or for not following the meta. As long as the person is, in their own way, trying their best to win, they do not deserve punishment.

Soooo in your opinion a player doesn't deserve punishment after taking someone's cs, even after being asked NOT to do it, feeding and refusing to help? Well, shit, thanks, I'm a support main so this 'meta decision' will DEFINITELY help me to climb, who cares about that filthy adc right? It doesn't matter that I will disable one of our teammates, as long as I'm doing that to win (heh, win xd) it's all gucci right?

I'm a support main as well. However, you have to realize that it is the meta that says that those are the ADC's cs, not the game itself. There is no hard rule in the game that says 'if you pick the support role you cannot kill Creeps if another champion is around'. Players have decided that is the optimal way to play, not Riot. And Riot is not going to punish someone for playing inoptimally. If they did that, they'd have to ban everyone who experimented ever.

I don't take CS when I play support because I agree with the meta, but it is not punishable to disagree with that.

There is no rule stating you must follow the meta to play the game.

Take your adc's farm and try to climb while doing that. And try to explain to them that there is no rule stating you can't take cs. I'm really curious what will be their reaction and how willing they will be to win the game under those conditions.

EDIT: I agree with 'There is no rule stating you must follow the meta to play the game.', but as long as it doesn't directly hurting another player. For example, if I'm adc and i play with Teemo supp I would be fine with that, but if that same Teemo starts taking my cs, even tho I asked him not to do it, then it's an issue.

Reading comprehension.

I currently feel that it is ideal for me to focus on harassment and vision, while my ADC focuses on CS. So I play that way. I don't do it that way because the meta tells me to, I do it because i feel it is the ideal allocation of resources.

So no, I'm not going to go 'play that way'... because then I WOULD be trolling because I would be playing in a way that is NOT me legitimately trying to win the game. However, if I simply disagreed with the meta and still played to the best of my ability to win in a way that I believed was ideal... I would be wrong, not trolling.

The difference comes down to intent. You won't get punished for being sincerely wrong. You will get punished if you intentionally act to sabotage your team's chances as you see it.
