Often you will realize that being angry is a waste of time.
It's not a choice. It's an emotion you experience as a result of your natural predisposition to it as well as the environment. It's also not an activity that consumes time by itself, so while being angry might impede you in whatever you are doing, it is not a waste of time by itself.
I only bring it up because I see people saying things like "you just aren't competitive", "why don't you get upset", "why is getting angry bad", etc. to people that don't lash/condone lashing out. When it may just be as simple as the tip. Being angry in the game is a waste of time. Lashing out isn't going to change the player x% of the time (I wanna say 97% but since I lack actual data, won't).
Lashing out is not the same as being angry. Not lashing out, consequently, is not the same as not being angry.
Also, if you get trolled and manage to shrug it off and not get angry over it, then good for you, you're in a very tiny minority of people who can do that. It's not a natural way to process that happening to you, so it's your blessing as opposed to the standard of how people could handle it. (That is unless you don't care about the game at all to begin with, in which case what the hell are you doing playing it, but that's another conversation.)
And if you present your lack of anger toward the troll through flippant, or complaicent communication about the trolling, of course the other teammates who are also being trolled won't be able to understand what they percieve as you taking the troll's side.
