hear me out. a chat restrict 10 takes 3 toxic games. 25 takes 3 more. 2 week ban takes 3 in a short time.. and perma ban takes 3.. thats a total of 12 games.. of course the 3 games have to be within close distance of each other, but shouldn't the punishment count reset after.. 500 games played or.. end of each season? what is 12-20 toxic games compared to 500+? im hoping with the new honor system that unless you get punished at 1-0 honor rank you cannot be perma banned
ModThe Djinn3 votesReceiving a punishment in the new system drops your honor -- it might even reset it entirely to 0.
Also, all non-permanent punishments DO reset with a sufficient number of games played. You can eventually get even a 14-day ban down to the same level as a never-punished account if you play enough games with good behavior.
Has No Team1 votesThere's no reason to reset the punishment of players just because they've been toxic enough to warrant punishment several times but all with "some time" between incidents.

Do you believe that is okay, and lets say he did it twice in a row, and got a perma ban, would that be fine? the thousands of games not being toxic HAS to account for SOMETHING

Has No Team1 votesHonestly those who are in a spotlight for the community get a harsher treatment. Have you not seen people getting bans off Reddit posts alone ? This is because Riot wants to keep the negativity out of the spotlight. Any company who wants their game to do well will use tactics like these. Dunkey is not your average player so he got a harsh treatment. Probably manually. The thing is that in a lot of games you get very few truly toxic people. The description of "toxic" at the moment is overused.
A toxic player is someone who: intentionally feeds gives the enemy information about their team uses racist slurs uses homophobic language harasses team members (not one or two comments but actual nonstop harassment) leaves the game AFk's
Right now the system for the average player is designed to detect a "trend" of toxic behavior. I have a friend with three banned accounts. Why ? He flames , ints , feeds , afk's and uses racial slurs. He knows he is going to get banned... This is a frequent thing. This player deserves to be banned. Now let's look at what I do.. (I'm kinda toxic)
I call people out for feeding... I question ping people when they die needlessly or get caught out. I ask people "WTF r u doing?" and I also ping spam when someone isn't focusing an objective. I ban team members picks if I do not think that i would like them or if it's a highly contested pick and they are last. Yet I have not recieved a ban. These behaviors are slightly toxic and I am trying to correct them but they do not warrant a ban if they are not a CONSTANT thing. These are still behaviors that if frequent enough will get me a ban.
I have had the same account since season three now and I can say with certainty that the behavior monitoring system is not unfair. I have had chat restrictions. Those are warnings. Riot has no obligation to give you any warnings honestly. If someone cannot contain themselves then maybe they should not be playing the game. They're not hard rules to go by. Do you think the rules are too much to expect out of someone? Do they seem in some fashion unfair to follow ? They were agreed upon by you agreeing to the "Terms of Service" which everyone who plays must agree to.

Yep. Riot has a zero tolerance policy on feeding, hate speech, and encouragements to self-harm. 14-day ban at the first confirmed offense, every time, no matter who you are.
They have an ABSOLUTE ZERO TOLERANCE policy on cheating. Permanent ban at the first confirmed offense, every time, no matter who you are.
These behaviors are those that everyone should know aren't acceptable.
Further, people CAN change. If Dunkey suddenly had 25 games in a row where he was reported for toxic behavior, there's a disturbing new trend in his gameplay behavior and it definitely deserves a warning/punishment. He's then welcome to play more games and show that it was a one-time thing -- which is how the system is designed. You can deescalate punishments over time, but only RETROACTIVELY -- there is not really a "proactive punishment defense" for good behavior.
