Trying to help people is flaming?

Hello guys!!

(sorry for my bad englisch)

I recently got 4 reports from my team... the reason was quite simple i flamed they said. But then i asked how i giving people advice flame? The short answer:

  1. We don't know you
  2. You suck
  3. Why do you even think you can teach us?
  4. We know how to play our champs

Well if faker gave them advice they would have listen just to make it more clear to me how silly it was from me to be nice and try to help people. Unfortunatly i'm quite scared now that i will get a chat restriction cause of this. Furthermore i'm actualy quite interrested in other people experience in when they tried to be nice but people directly called it flame.

Sometimes i just think why are there people who can only see the worse side of others and never think maybe he meant it otherwise then how he said it right there. Gues its just the community of leage of legends.

People know faker though. They are right - they do not know you. Why should they assume you know better than them?

If I ever give advice (and it's rare), I always ask beforehand if it is wanted. "Would you like some tips and ideas?". If they say no or are silent - DO NOT GIVE IT. They won't be receptive anyway. If you do give advice, never ever make it look like you are actually blaming someone. "Stop feeding" is never advice. "Stop towerdiving" can easily be misinterpreted. "Maybe try a (item) instead of (other item) to counter (whatever)" is good advice though.

It's all in the words

Basically it's: Not what you said, it's how you say it. And since this is all chat you have to assume the worse when it comes to things like this. People will always misinterpret what you write. And like other have said a lot of people will get hostile when you are trying to be "bossy". These are random people you play with and all with (hopefully) the same goals: to win. They don't need anyone to tell them what to do unless they ask for it.

What is your rank? People in league of legends at lower elos, hell even gold and plat dont want to to take advice. and jeezus if you have a score like 0/2/1000000 they still think youre bad and wont listen to you.

Ill be honest with you, in bronze, if my team just listens to me, I can go 0/10 and still be a positive contributor for my team as long as my team is willing to split push or push in general. Ill do things like go straight tank (maybe nasus) farm the shit out of lane and then have them send 3-4 people to come get me, Ill waste a good 30 seconds of the time with warmogs heart chasing me while my team takes objectives. Because its bronze right? The 300 gold for one player (probably less at the 0/10 score) is more important than protecting objectives.

Anyway yes it happens alot and I usually get 10 game chat restrictions every few months and have to "reform" even though Im not being rude, the bronzes and silvers would just report report report .

I told a lulu she shouldnt be missing point and click shots (autoattacks) and she should hold down `. and she started crying saying I am being toxic, and i am insulting her play style. Im sorry but if you MISS an autoattack youre a piece of trash.

Keep providing advice in the nicest manner you can, make sure you arent spamming chat too often, youre being paired with these people and riot provides chat for a reason, if youre being courteous and just giving suggestions (THATS THE POINT OF THE FUCKING CHAT, TO ASSIST in GAME PLAY) dont worry about it. If Riot bans you for that shit I would just take them to court and strip them of all their money

Did you actually get punished or warned? Because baseless reports have no weight.
