why do people get so tilted when you say this line
"its just a game" they act if that line is REPORTABLE and is it reportable to say "its just a game"

It's not because we disagree. We know it's a game. Lets make some comparisons though. Maybe you are car pooling to work and they just don't pick you up. You call and they just say "dude it's just a car ride."
Or how bout this.
Someone asks you out to dinner. You show up and they never do. When you ask them why. They just say "Hey it's just dinner."
See it's not the fact that it's a game, a car ride, or dinner that makes us upset with you. It's the fact that you simply are wasting our fucking time. Times a pretty finite resource whether you look as the hour or so a day I might get to do something for fun or even looking at how much time one is alive. So you see just doing something like dieing a half dozen times say with ad soraka jungle. You say "It's just a game dude" fair enough. Just remember you took an hour of enjoyment out of my life then basically mocked me for it.
Don't expect a pleasant response.
I frequently see posts about how people think that means the player is not trying. However, in my experience I see it when someone is raging and the person who says it wants them to calm down and focus on the match, which is quite the opposite.
If the one raging and told this is the one that makes those posts then that explains why the general sentiment is that it's negative whether that's really the case or not.
If I had to guess... because 999 times out of 1,000, someone is using that line to justify intentionally throwing the game in one way or another. It doesn't really tend to come up as a response to "I'm thinking about quitting my job and playing LoL full time".
because in ranked. people are actually playing to climb. and "it's just a game" is often taken as " im just here to screw around."
Cause league isn't "just a game"
In football people don't say "its just a game" and start screwing around, neither should you do so in league. People actually dedicate a lot of time, money, and work into this game to improve and get LP and higher ratings. Getting told "it's just a game" basically translates to "nothing you've achieved mattered".
The only time "its just a game" should be taken lightly is in blind pick or rotating game modes where its literally just messing around.
League is more of a sport, what if you were a football player and lost the superbowl and was just told "its just a game". It tilts because it does mean something to league players the higher rating you get.
they don't want to face the facts that they're life is meaningless?
Well because most people can see what you really meant.
When someone says "it's just a game", it is just paraphrasing "I have no idea how to win or play better. I have resigned to losing and I do not care about the time I wasted for 9 other human beings. My cognitive dissonance will not allow me to admit that I am not the absolute best LoL player in the entire world or that I may have room for improvement or that I made a mistake somewhere so instead I just tell myself that there is no way I could care or that this could be anything more than a simple game. If it were more than a game then I would win because I am the best that is, was or ever will be."
