Mute all addition

Hello everyone,

As a player who has been banned by getting grouped into negative conversations in an attempt to calm the team, I have a suggestion. I know there is already a mute all that you can type each game. I would like to suggest that there be an option to have all other players muted each game without having to type /mute all. What I mean here is the same as the profanity filter. By allowing this check box, it just removes the hassle of typing to mute each and every game. I personally requested from Riot to provide my new account with a 25 game chat restriction just so I did not have to type to mute each game and also was not inclined to contribute to a conversation that had a negative impact.

I appreciate all thoughts and constructive criticism that the community can provide on this idea. Thanks in advance.

P.s. I think this would be the correct boards since its more behavior than gameplay. Could a mod please move if incorrect boards?

As somebody that frequently uses chat to actually convey strategy, and never to flame or harass people, I'd very much prefer that Riot not facilitate blanket muting of me by potential teammates.

The blanket muting would be optional by players. Personally just not having to read tilted players banter also tends to help people play better too. It would not be a thing that is community wide as it would be a preference for individuals. I have tried relaying strategy to win and it turns into negative arguments more often than teamwork which is why I think this option could help. They already have the /mute all available as is.

I understand that, but providing the option punishes people like me. Currently, I have a reasonable expectation to never be muted, with the occasional exception of somebody who /mute all's at the start of each match. But if you add in a toggle in the options menu to turn chat off altogether, I now face the possibility that a significant number of my teammates will randomly never see me typing.

I completely understand that. I was that way before and tried to work best with teams. I currently have lost my main account for being grouped into their conversation while trying to diffuse it. As such they are now still playing and my main is banned for trying to help. It is unfortunate but given how my last account is no longer able to be used, this would dramatically reduce the chat of toxic players that I at least tend to get every game.

You gotta put a little effort into reforming. Sure, they could put resources towards this, but the benefit seems minimal.

It should be minimal effort to implement this honestly. I have to always mute my team for their toxic banter anyways so this would certainly save me time each time from having to type mid game with /mute all.

I just hardly find entire teams being toxic.

I'm just not seeing the benefit. Even if you had everything muted, what are you going to do when someone screws up in your lane too many times?

The issue doesn't appear to be protecting you from communication, but how you deal with toxic situations when they arise.

toxic situations end up with me muting that player so i dont have to read their banter or have it impact my playing experience. the issue is i have to go into the score board and mute them each time. I personally would rather just not have chat communications while still using pings to effectively communicate.

I like the sounds of this, but tbh just getting rid of the toxic people is the best option. Instead of doing this, I would prefer if Riot just put more resources into their justice system.

I was also banned on my main for attempting to defuse the problematic conversation in chat and as such I got grouped into that negativity without negative chat. Those negative players are still playing and my account is gone.
