Yea don't listen to whoever came up with that bright idea anymore. Now all the casual ARAM players and quest completers like me have to shit up a bunch of placement matches for the people that actually care how high they can score at compensating for matchmaking in some old kids game.
We are two very different parts of your community and we stay apart on purpose because we are toxic to each other.

While I do enjoy missions, especially the "use a keystone from these trees" mission since I'm mostly aram only so I saw/did some pretty interesting things, I will agree trying to force others to do certain quests is bad.
I despise ranked, refuse to do it at all. I like to play casually, my first 2 seasons of ranked showed me that yeah, ranked isn't for me at all. And this quest is just... why? I can only play a few roles, however most often I support and while that may be a normally unliked role, I'm not guaranteed to get it. Plus I'm mostly an aram-only player.
Sure, I can easily go from howling abyss to summoners rift more easily than others, but that doesn't mean everyone can. And not everyone can stand the competitive nature that is ranked. I sure can't, and one of my friends hates ranked but plays for gold because he wants the end of year rewards.
It's like the pre-made missions... most people can't do them. But, like we'll soon see here, if you complain you get told to "suck it up" or "get some friends" by some jerks, even if theirs a bunch that agree with you.
Personally I have zero interest in quests, don't even bother to look them up. Imo quests don't fit with league, that's not the type of game it is.
I played one ranked game this morning. They were so toxic I restarted my computer so I could get out of the game as fast as I possibly could. It was 15 minutes in anyway and they were going to surrender so I spared them the 5th vote. Plus they told me to afk anyway, as well as to never play league again, to refund my skins, to give this account back to whoever I bought it from(I didn't buy it btw that's just the go to insult), ect. They pretty much said everything except kys, which I'm sure they would have if I stayed. I play draft norms. I don't want to play ranked, nor do I want to waste money on this game. It's bad enough I bought Jhin's skins and his figure. I'm just trying to level up so I can unlock this Xayah champ shard that's rotting in my inventory. Otherwise, I wouldn't care if I completed a stupid mission or not.

First, quests forcing people that don't give a damn about ranked is ridiculous, lol. They'll just pick whatever thing in norms they screw around with, then proceed to go 0/10 in their lane or jg, and either end up afk'ing or inting much faster.
Second, ranked quests this early...? I get later, because it's more established and there's less chance of getting trolls and stuff then... But now? Specially if you have to WIN the matches? I'm already at a 25% win rate because lost 3 matches thanks to feeding top/mid or jg that did nothing but build AP (when they were AD, mind you) and won a single match where I was lucky enough to have a damn nice jungler and topside player. I get this is a very subjective thing which varies to everyone that plays ranked, but come on, lol.
Third, quests might be cool to unlock things faster, but why can't the rewards feel more rewarding? At least have them be like a consolation prize sort of thing? 300 BE for what could be a 40-50 minute loss because the enemy team refuses to end but rather farm champion kills and jungle the 100th time over is just painful and not worth it. (Note this only happens if you have those 2-3 people that refuse to surrender for anything even though the match is 53-12 with 2 kills on each person, maybe an extra one on the support or mid.
I guess you were low elo based on the complaint, then confirmed it on op.gg. I do not bring this up to flame. I've been in Plat for years now but don't take ranked very seriously and thus haven't attained a Diamond ranked. The idea that anyone below Diamond 1-3 "takes the game seriously" is laughable at best. Getting more people to play ranked is only ever a good thing, as ranked is the best place to learn how to become a better player and grow, if you have the correct mindset for it. I think you have far more to worry about on your climb than extra players "shitting up your placements" as your placement is almost meaningless in the first place. A good player can always push themselves to attain their ranked goal if they really want it.
