Is there going to be a ban wave?

I've got a couple of people on my friends list who got boosted at the end of the season from bronze to gold

I reported them months ago to riot support with links to their match histories that made it blatantly obvious (playing champs outside users champ pool with insane winrates, summoner spell swap, the whole nine yards)

and here months later after season rewards have been handed out nothing.

I understand sometimes these things take time, but i find it really disheartening when you essentially do riot supports job for them by taking screencaps of players admitting openly to paying others to play on their accounts and months later no action.

I get the feeling most of the time riot just ignores these tickets and brushes it off with the "we wont be able to follow up and let you not if any action is taken" schtick. But i can still see them on op.gg

Feeding in ranked games at an elo they have no business being in. Has anyone else reported someone via ticket and seen it lead to actual results?
