Why does Riot have such a high tolerance for INT and Ragequit? (Half Rant, sorry).
A little bit of this is ranty and I apologize, but I hope I brought up some points for discussion in the department of extremely toxic behavior. I want to enjoy this game, cause it used to be fun. But the community as we all know is super awful.
I personally don't care if people are being "mean" toxic, and cussing, swearing, throwing out insults and threats and whatnot, it's the DELIBERATE losing of games that flusters me. But in all honesty, why is there not a zero tolerance policy for Intentional feeding and ragequit AFKing? Even worse when people act all innocent and try to pad the chatlogs "[All] Oh I'm lagging" (Which is why you said "fuck this I'm done" in team chat before AFKing for 5 minutes, coming back and running to their fountain 4 times, right?). It's become more common with autofill, but it happens for a plethora of reasons where people just throw that toxicity around to affect the entire game, which then spreads to the players in that game and carries to later games, cascading immensely.
I mean this doesn't happen so much at Plat and above. Up there all we do is bitch and cuss at each other but we still play. Who cares if people are just inherently doing poorly, or who even gives a shit if people are "being meanie butts and saying baddies to me!". Nobody cares about the trash talk so long as people are actively playing and still attempting to win, even in hopeless scenarios.
It's the intentionally losing or ragequitting that is the issue. I understand this is severely more common gold and below, but it's an absurd problem to have to begin with. Should there not be a 0 tolerance policy? There's no excuse to lose on purpose. That shouldn't be allowed, and attempting to have them reform is stupid to begin with. Nobody should be thinking that way in the first place. Ranked, Normals, even ARAM. It's fine to dick around in normals and aram, and it's okay to play around and do unconventional stuff in ranked, I don't mind. It's exclusively the people avidly losing on purpose. It's SUPER flustering when someone QQs 7 minutes and throws, especially when the rest of us follow the code. Or heaven forbid a duo queue loses on purpose both, there's 0 winning that. But they get to lose on purpose and walk away with a warning and we aren't allowed to go "well this is 100% done cause it's 3v7, I'm gunna go do laundry instead of wasting my time following the summoner's code, or do anything else productive for the remaining 10 minutes while they push and end."
I would like for a single offence to be a permaban, but that's realistically never going to happen. If people get an immediate 2 week ban upon evidence of ONE game of ragequitting or Intentional feeding, people are going to be entirely less likely to be so childish in the first place. If you want them to "reform", after their 2 week ban, as soon as they have evidence at another game, hit em with another 2 week (or introduce a month long?) ban, and explicity inform them that a SINGLE offense after will result in permanent suspension. People are going to take that seriously if the law is laid down. Now? Oh they can do it for 5-10 games and then they get a warning. Oh, they continue to do it? 5-10 more games and a 3 day ban. Again with a 1 week, again with a 2 week, then another 2 week, then a permaban. That's WAY too many games for it to be tolerated.
TL;DR - Should there not be a Zero-tolerance policy when there is definitive evidence that a summoner chose to INTENTIONALLY lose a game, or ragequit/AFK (in ANY game mode)? Not just doing stupid stuff and losing, and not disconnecting or family emergencies, but avidly having the intent to lose the game on purpose because they're childish and want to feel empowered? The paragraph above the TL;DR has a pair of ideas for severely more harsh punishment for these offenses which should definitely not be allowed to happen.
Thoughts? Ideas? Thanks! -Kalm
