what can be done about the dodge timer and client being responsible?

I'm so sick of waiting through dodge timers because of the client crashing right in champ select. I hate that i'm being punished for your problems Riot. Can you at least just make all dodge timers 5 minutes across the board? That would make this situation a lot more bearable.
