I just don't understand

I just love how the thought of riot and other things just for some reason believe that your suppose to always be nice to everyone, even if they're belittling you. It's dumb, it's just absolutely dumb. I always see it, some trash talks me and I go off on them, then they want to go running to the report buttons cause they can't handle get talked back to, bam, suspended for 14 weeks and eventually a perma ban. I come from a place were you don't just let people walk over you and be nice back to them, no if that shit happens then they better be ready for a fight back, but on here and threads, people just expect you to let them call you bad, or trash, and nothing will happen? you can forget that, cause trust me, you're probably just as bad to someone else so you don't deserve the right to call someone bad at the game or trash. no, fuck you. And no I'm not fucking perma'd I'm just sick of shit like this cause thread moderators and riot's stupid support bot expect you to just let it happen and not do anything about it.

LoL is a VIRTUAL online video game. It has nothing to do with origins or self defense or honor or education or pride or justice system or ego. When you play LoL, your physical integrity is not in danger. Heck, your personal honor is not even in danger either. Nothing forces you to defend yourself in a VIRTUAL game. You may say "I come from a place where its important to defend myself and my honor and the others", which is great in some real life circumstances, useless in a virtual game with anonymous people.

Its hard to not want to retaliate, if it were easy, this sub-Board wouldnt exist neither this historical debate as old as LoL. Its hard to take the high road but thats the intelligent thing to do. Do you want to be the mature one or just another toxic player? Retaliation is useless, doesnt matter who started it in a virtual game.

You dont have to be nice in LoL, you just have to be nice OR neutral. By triggering/fueling more disruptive behavior, you stop being an innocent witness, you become part of the problem.

Oh I don't let the toxics walk over me. So I report them at the end and let them build up a case and eventually get punished.

From a philosophical perspective, people are only able to walk over in online interactions you if you mentally let them. If you are thinking you are standing tall when they are flaming you, then you are standing tall.

When the toxics flame me, I just brush them off and mentally make a note that they are beneath me. Now they can't walk over me anymore cos I have more control and power over them.

Sounds like you won't fire back if you knew something would be done against the toxics, so let's have you understand the behavioral system a bit more.

Think of it like a health bar (or tension meter) in music games. When you hit the note at an off beat, your tension meter increases. When you completely miss a note, the meter increases by alot. When you hit the note at good timings, it reduces the meter.

Riot's behavior system works the same way, as in we all have a toxicity meter attached to our accounts. When players are mildly toxic, it goes up a tad. When people use hate speech, it pretty much fills up the meter. of course, clean games reduce the meter.

It is possible for playerA to get punished and playerB not to, even though playerB was waaayyyyy more toxic . Let's say playerA started the game with the toxicity meter at 95% and playerB's at 35%. Ingame, playerB said some pretty nasty shit and playerA responds with some minor shit. After the game, playerA gains 10% toxicity and playerB gains 50%. Now playerA is at 105% toxicity and gets punished, whereas playerB is at 85%, and not punished in that specific game, even though playerB was found to be 5x more toxic than playerA in that game.

riot does not demand you to be nice. they just demand that you arent an ahole thats all. thats why they give you the option to mute/turn chat off entirely. if you dont want to communicate with certain people (or all people) thats fine by riot.
