Open Letter Re: Bots in ARAM and Leaving Game

This is an open letter to League of Legends Staff.

In case this comes as a surprise: your ARAM game is now full of bot players.

Match 1 tonight: 2 bots on my team vs. 1 on the opponents. Match 2 tonight: 3 bots on my team vs. 1 on the opponents.

This is ridiculous. Unlike many of your players I really don't care much about Ranked play or your main map. The vast majority of my play is on ARAM, and the game mode, as of the last 2-3 weeks or so, is ruined. It's started out as an abnormality a few weeks ago...players who enter the game with no Keystone and who run in and get themselves killed. Then a week or so ago it was consistent: At least 1 every match, but generally no more than 1 a match and some matches without.

Tonight it's multiple bots / team / map.

I'm 41 years old, I play your game for entertainment. This is not entertaining. Walking into what is in essence a 2v4 in a random game mode where teams are already generally VERY unbalanced is not only not entertaining, it's frustrating and there are plenty of ways for me to express that frustration.

Being 41, I have full control of the money my household spends. My household has 3 accounts including mine. They are all now on PERMANENT ban for expenditure to your game till this situation is fixed. To be clear, till I see ARAM bots addressed with something SIGNIFICANT done about the bot situation, not a dime will be coming to Riot Games from my household.

I encourage everyone reading this post to do the same.

While I appreciate the loss of a couple hundred dollars a year is a pittance to your bottom line, that is the only way we players have of speaking to your company, so I will let what little money that is do my talking for me.

First it's ARAM, next it will be Summoner's Rift. If this is too difficult to get a handle on REMOVE THE GAME MODE. At least then those of us who play it will understand.

I currently will be spending my time on Overwatch and Mechwarrior:Online. Both of which do not have the problems your game currently does.

I deeply enjoy ARAM, I find it to be a generally relaxing game mode that normally doesn't show the poor community spirit your Summoner's Rift game mode does. I all but avoid Summoner's Rift these days due to the toxic and generally mean spirited player community. It's unfortunate that I will no longer be able to play ARAM either without the frustration of being unable to play a skilled game against skilled opponents due to bots.

I will check back on the thread and patch notes to see if there are any responses or fixes. I sincerely hope someone from the RIOT staff has the opportunity to read this.

Sincerely -- A former player who hopes to be able to enjoy your game again sometime in the future.

Removing ARAM would not stop botting. They'd just move to another map. The motivation for botting needs to be hit at the root, it's the only way to stop it.

Join me in playing Twisted Treeline. I find it more fund than SR anyways. If we play custom matches against each other, we could cut out the bots and gain PvP experience... which I am in desperate need of cause I suck at PvP but I destroy the AI. Send me a friend request. (oh and I'm 37 with 5 other accounts within my family unit, so I understand your situation)

No idea what my MMR is, I'm Bronze 1, so it can't be THAT bad.

Every game has a bot and I report every single one, which has proven not effective.
