I'm not sure how it works in the EU, but most police departments in the US will perform a "safety check" upon request of any concerned party. Basically, if I think one of my friends is considering suicide, I can call their local police department - even if it's far away - give them my reasoning and evidence, and if the police think they may be in trouble they'll go and check it out just to ensure that, if the person is considering/attempting someone is there to talk to them and hopefully save their life.
I know some corporations have a form for this - such as twitter where you can report tweets that suggest someone may be harming themselves or others - but I am unsure as to the extent of their contact with police. I would not be surprised if many corporations forwarded claims to police for investigation and safety. I further have no information as to if Riot has this type of contact with police, so while I understand that's your main question I can't actually answer it.
Keep in mind that when a corporation reports something to the police - be it a threat against them, a suicidal customer, or any other thing, the company isn't "sending the police". The police make every determination as to the validity of the claim and whether they need to send officers or not.
