Do you think riot has the right to ban accounts ?

This game is the best game that i have ever played im not gonna lie but sometimes the people who work and make decisions could the be the worst people

Do you think is fair to ban someone's account after collecting the bunch of skins and champions, and climbing to diamond, having over 20k blue essence should be banned? it's all started with saying "fuck" i do believe everyone is saying this word but they actually did not get banned.I said it and I NEVER mean to offened someone, it's for a joke but when ur team lose in NORMAL GAME they actually dont look at thier mistake they look at who should we blame, i played zed as supporting (i got new skin and i wanted to try it for the first time) mid was taken everything was taken but support everyone knows this i believe i didnt troll my adc, in fact, we won the lane so nicely,then we start chating and chating but no one acutally knows that riot record what you type it looks creepy and scarry to use against. Cus of saying "fuck" i get banned for 14 days and people out there saying it continuesly everyday everygame no one is punishing them the funny part is that i used to have aweful laptop who cant run lol very well i bought a new one just to play this dumb game,after this sitiuation riot let me down and i hope after they made us addicted to this game understand that it is wrong to ban someone's account who's level is over 100 get banned for saying "fuck" to someone it could be offensive i understand but im used to chat the whole time and never happens now without an alert and warning they start to be the cool riot

There is trash talking and then there is talking like trash.

Looking at the logs, you were talking like trash. You might find 1 region that allows it based on culture, even then I doubt it. That is hardly a majority though.

Does riot have the right to ban an account? Dont know, youd need to sue them to find out. While i personally dont like the idea of perma banning a potential thing someone has paid for, unless you want to bring them to court over it after being banned, they can do so if they wish.

Not necessarily. A lot of the "You dont own access to X" stuff around the world is losing in court cases, and its in riot's ToS which is not a legally binding document. Its not like a court has ruled riot has the right to ban people if they so wish, so it is technically possible for it to be illegal if ruled in favor of someone who was banned as being anti consumer.

Whos going to take them to court though? And under what circumstances?

Ultimately depends on what you define as them having the right to ban your account. They dont not have that right, so they can. If you dispute this, youre free to try your hand in court if you can find a breech of consumer law, and hope a judge sides with you.

You don't get punished for swear words. you get punished at for harassing and insulting others. which you can do without swear words.

They system punishes based on consistency x severity. Which means that toxicity that is mild in severity will take many games of repeatative behavior before you are punished.

The following are toxicity of mild severity things that are missed by many:

  • asking/ threatening for reports
  • rank shaming (using someones rank and implying they are bad)
  • age shaming (calling people kid)
  • calling people bad
  • defeatist attitude, saying the game is over
  • threatening to AFK / troll

We do understand you.

I do agree that a warning before the chat restriction is good. Unfortunately, the system currently doesn't operate that way and can use alot more clarity and visibility.

Just because a small percent of people do it all the time, doesn't mean it's accepted.

######By small percent, here is how the math works: If one person is doing it in a game, that's only 20% of the players you play with, as it's 1/5 players in the game. If you see it once every 3 games, it means only 6.66% of the players you play with do that.######

You did get a warning, it's called a chat restriction/14-day suspension. THOSE are your warnings. In addition, the message in the 14-day reform card states that it is your final warning (I'm going off what I have heard, I have never seen a reform card in my 7-8 years playing this game).

You absolutely did not get banned for merely saying "fuck". You got banned because you said a hell of a lot more than that. Post your chat logs. They will be on the screen when you log in. Nobody here is going to believe a word you say until you do so.

dude, i might made a mistake and it's caused my account to get banned however we all do that we all talk trash that what makes the game fun and im gonna say it again i dont do that shit on rank i take normal games for FUN only

I expect any decent person to know you don't say that word. Ever.

Slurs and calls to self harm are all under a Zero Tolerance policy. One offence can take your account from nothing to a 14 day ban.

I understand what i have done and learned from my mistakes,however it became like a habit,riot did not really care about this they might said in videos they post but they didnt alert of doing that,its 14 days bro it's not like a day or 2

Hate speech and racism escalates punishments past chat restrictions because it is behavior that Riot has a zero tolerance policy against.

On the original topic, Riot is hosting you on private servers and has the right to remove people they do not wish to host just like a restaurant or store does.

games can be heated yes but keep in mind that kids are playing, sometimes emotions can overcome everything and that's the result it happens to all of us at one point, recalibrate your focus do you wanna use vulgar language or do you want to become a legend and be a great example for everyone. stay positive stay happy. smile and play the game. have fun. check new skins good stuff ;)
