How long does it take to reset your punishment?

I know it happens because I was on a 2 week ban and then after a while I got a chat restriction. This was like 2 years ago now.I don't remember how long it took though.

Riot has no specific time frame that is given for the punishment tiers to drop. The biggest thing is to just continue being respectful regardless what your punishment tier is. It should not take you all the way to a 14-day suspension to realize this, but many do not even heed this final warning, and end up with a permanently banned account.

Kudos to you for playing with honor for the two-ish years, and congrats on reducing your tiers. That being said, reducing punishment tiers should not be your main goal, but a side effect of good behavior.

Punishment tiers drop by playing games. For a player with average playtime, it takes around 3 months to drop a punishment tier.

14-day is 3rd tier, so for an account to complete be clean, you'll need 9 months of average play time.

I can 100% confirm as I myself have been interested in this.

I've been punished with 2x 9 games chat restrictions. Between the 2 punishments, I haven't shown "better behavior" (because, honestly, complaining shouldn't be considered "toxic", but, hey, Riot) but it took me ~500 games between each penalty.

It's definitely a lot of games.

My biggest advice is: don't get reported multiple times (don't piss multiple people off) and DON'T PLAY A LOT IN SHORT TIME SPANS. The way any detection system works is frequency. Riot says that "only 1 report is enough" but...every single detection system works based on frequency. They're just trying to make you not say "report this guy, please", which is fair and I respect it.

A friend of mine says the worst things, even used the k** thing a few times but out of, say, 100 games, he doesn't type.

Frequency matters. Take breaks.

On another account I went down three punishment tiers in a couple weeks of play while flaming and trolling regularly.
