The Kha'Zix Syndrome
I'm here to complain about a popular solo que play style encouraged by streamers and the community as a whole where you play exclusively for KDA. This is usually used by full damage assassins with escape tools in their kits, or late game hyper carries who rely on resets or peel to function. The strategy is to farm all game long and build straight damage and only interact with the game when you are stealing kills from people. By the end of the game your KDA looks amazing because compared to you team you have more kill numbers and less death numbers. My argument is that this strategy can only succeed when your teammates carry. otherwise you never go into fight and can be "in the right" to flame your team for feeding.
There are three Classic outcomes to playing for KDA like this. 1. Your teammates go in and don't die: the ideal case. in this scenario you waited for that perfect moment and got your resets etc and your team aces their team. This usually means you got carried and button mashed a bit stealing every single kill in the fight and they would have been better off if you just played a sup and healed them.
2. Your teammates go in and die but you clean up: another positive outcome, but everyone died and you wait until all abilities were used and then "Clean Up" and take credit for the entire team effort (make sure to spam EZ the the all chat). At least this time your champ helped your team win, but honestly if you played a team fighter the entire game wouldn't be on one person to "clean up" after.
3. Your teams goes in and dies and you do not go in after. this is the most common scenario and almost always result in the assassin flaming the teammates, or comments like "im gonna afk farm now" . Maybe it was a poor engage, Maybe you really can't get in the fight, or not all 5 were there... whatever the reason the fight has started and because your play style doesn't allow you to take a risk you will not go in. This happens once or twice the game is lost.
Typical offenders play champs like khazix, shaco, kassidin, yi, kateriana, kaisa, vayne and others who will farm all game and wait till the end of the fights to KS.
**DISCLAIMER: ** this is a posted about players who use assassins to proactively snowball the game. That is what assassins are supposed to do. I am talking specifically about PLAYERS (not champs) who's goal is to stall out the game for their perfect moment, and when it doesn't come it's the fault of their teammates. Im talking about those 5v5 when everyone is ready to fight over an objective, and these players will not until they have already won.
