i had to pick up a sick toddler from school im sorry i had to leave. p.s. i am not the parent just got called by the parent, i am too young too be a father yet maybe someday ill be lucky enough to have a family but not ready.

It happens. Emergencies are spur of the moment things that can't always be avoided. It is a shame it happened after the remake option.

In short, just try to avoid it becoming a habit. It sounds hard, but just remember to at least check temperature if a student/child says they aren't feeling well. Especially with allergies and a bug going around.

if it was bronze 5 elo it wouldve been ok cause they dont know how the fuck to end a game but in this elo unless you client crashes or something game related i'dve just flipped off the teacher and told them pick the kid up on my own time hehexd

Parents do occasionally say, "I'll be there when I can to get them.". Sometimes that is 2 hours later. (Maybe that is just the schools I have worked at.)

Besides, how are you going to know why the person d/ced? Some people do mention after 20 minutes, "Hey, I need to head to work soon. Can we group and end?" We tried and weren't able to. "Sorry, I have to go or I'll be late." We understood and were fine with it.

Would I get upset someone leaves mid game? A little, especially if I can guess it was intentional; i.e. Feeding/raging. "GG. Bye.", or if someone was getting verbally abused by 3 others. In case of the latter, I would understand wanting to remove self from the toxicity.

In short, I applaud the parent for doing what they believed to be responsible choice. I am sorry for those that had to pay the penalty.

you know when that client issue happened when it crashed a select people in game? i was in flex at the time i crashed and didnt know what happened 3 minutes in came back 30 minutes later we were winning ended up only dying twice cause i knew what i was doing (i was support nautilus) and we won the flex game

thats literally the only time i afk are when something happens to my connection or computer or client

But seriously -- life happens. Live > League, every damn time.

And the worst that happens from an AFK is that you'll be hit by LeaverBuster and have longer queues for a few games, and maybe lose some LP in Ranked. It's not a big deal.

Hope the kid isn't sick for long though! Sick toddlers are not fun to have around.

The leaverbuster system has built-in leniency for this sort of thing, so you should be fine. I've bailed on three ranked games for 1) a hurricane suddenly brewing in the area, 2) a mass power-outage, and 3) a friend threatening suicide. Fortunately they were spaced out, and I've never intentionally AFK'd a game, so I have yet to even get low priority queue. Sucks for your LP, but you'll be fine in the long run.
