Playing RANKED While "High"

So Riot, when are you going to permaban players playing RANKED while "high." Not only is this illegal in most states, it certainly pisses other players off. I'll be looking into legal action in regards to allowing accounts to play while "high."

Yes, I'm sure the government will require international breathalyzers and drug testing before people can log in. The best of luck to your legal pursuit. :3

I play WAY better when I'm high. I think you're barking up the wrong tree. You should not play when your mental state, for whatever reason, is impeding on your ability to play.

Proposing that specific measures be instated for this, however, would undoubtedly create a slipping slope. What if you are in a region where it is legal and, like me, it allows you to perform better by counteracting the crippling anxiety that would negatively impact my performance otherwise?

What about Prozac? What about anti anxiolytics in general? Or antidepressants? Anti psychotics? Caffeine? All of these substances have known and measurable impacts on cognitive functions; Should we ban all people with anxiety disorders?

Better still, what if you are sleepy? Hungry?

I could be convinced to support IBEAPANDAA's position, in that telling people you are under the influence can affect team morale. But to prevent people from playing? That's just selfish and misinformed.

Speaking of misinformed, I don't know on what grounds you would propose to sue Riot for this, but you would lose the case and a lot of money in lawyer fees.

They should just put it as verbal abuse in their automated chat system for people to say they are drunk or high

I could see not playing while drunk, but most of the time being high won't affect your play as much unless you are stoned to the point of wanting to fall asleep. Being hungry, angry, sad, or tired can affect your play just as much if not more.

Weed is not illegal here (It's decriminalised in BC, Canada) so I have nothing against that. But I do admit it pisses me off when someone uses "I'm high" as an excuse for playing poorly in a ranked game.

Half the people that say they're high probably aren't to be honest. Personally, I don't think it sets a good example to say such whether it's true or not. But often, it's just another way to say they're playing badly.
