BANNING PRESELECTED CHAMPS IN CHAMP SELECT

Hello fellow summoners.

Have you ever had your pre-picked champion intentionally banned by "teammates" during your ranked games? So far, I have seen it done for several reasons:

  1. you picked a champion they don't believe works in that lane
  2. you picked a champion that they want to pick, and if you don't give it to them, they WILL BAN IT.
  3. you picked a "noob" champion
  4. you picked Teemo
  5. to simply grieve you, usually accompanied by words such as "lel git salty" or "oh sh*t didn't see it LOL"
  6. you picked an AP support champion, and they want you to play tank support (you pick another AP champion, as a thank you note)
  7. Because you didn't swap lanes with them.

I think RIOT needs to disable this option completely. Some people do not pre-pick, and they have no right to complain - the option to pre-pick is there, and if your teammates are normal human beings (which in bronze or silver isn't a case too often), you should be able to pick your champion.

THIS IS NOT TO STOP ENEMY TEAMS FROM BANNING YOUR CHAMPION, BUT TO PREVENT GRIEFING AND NEGATIVITY FROM THE CHAMPION SELECT ITSELF.

This really doesn't happen all that often but when it does, it does suck.

Generally though, people don't usually ban your pre-selected champ but when they do, it's usually an accident (especially if its a really popular pick).

It happens maybe every 4-5 games, sometimes even more often. To me it happened on my first match today, and it has set a tilt precedent for the rest of it. I am just struggling to stay in B4 due to all the trolling, and having Jhin removed because someone didn't want me to play him mid (Jhin is ADC you cannot play him MID OMFG YOU NOOB WE NEED AP). So, this guy bans Jhin from me, and then picks Veigar as ADC. I am so tilted, I take Varus, and I forget to swap runes/masteries that I prefer to use for Jhin. All hell breaks loose, my premade is tilted in toplane - which he was winning btw, and we end up being crushed.

The only problem i have with this is that if something like this was to be implemented then trolling will just be "holding" a champion so that the enemy team can pick it especially if the enemy team will be first pick. You can basically ensure the enemy team will get that pick if holding a champion basically frees is from banning. How would you stop that when it becomes a problem like the problem we have now?

I mean ive never had something like this happen to me, and if it does i would just stop using Pick intent all together till the banning phase is over.

Now that would be a totally extreme case. You would actually pre-pick Yasuo and then let enemy team have it? How the hell do you know Yasuo will be picked by enemy team in the first place? There are literally thousands and thousands of players in queue at all times, and there is almost no chance you will run into the player you just met in your previous 1-2 games that you would know what they will pick.

You are basically saying better to allow the champion THAT YOU WANT to play be banned by a troll, rather than have some extremely remote chance that your toxic/troll teammate will intentionally enable enemy team to pick a champ so your team would get destroyed. Such players are already going to get banned for toxicity and griefing if entire team reports them, no matter what they allow enemy team to pick.

I think we're on completely different pages logically, although I do understand your concern, I just don't see it even remotely getting anywhere near the problem intentional banning of pre-picked champs is.

You do realize trading is a thing right? and the first pick if seen that an OP, or FotM champion is open you are basically giving it to them and them just trading it off afterwards. Is this a problem sure, but how exactly will this combat it if you give them another means to troll?

Happens all the time when i pick Yasuo .. they say oh , you have a 50% winrate so i banned him ,, wtf . thats why i stopped playing yasuo and now i play in the jungle as a result. Actually sucks riot but nothing can be done

I always bann Teemo when the ADC or toplaner wants to play him. ( in ranked only though )
