Why do players who tell me to "get cancer" or "kill myself" not getting banned, while i'll get punished for replying?

There are no double standards because Riot doesn't hand pick punishments to be doled out. If you received a punishment it's because you broke the rules as well. You don't receive punishments for responding civilly.

Errors can occur, people can stop playing at any time for any reason, and the IFS message is inconsistent at best. There is no way to consistently verify if someone has been punished.

Riot doesn't gaf. You respond you are just as guilty no matter what you say. Riot doesn't want people to defend themselves . Just mute people and get on with your life

Did you reported them or submitted ticket? If they used modified versions of words it's easy to fool bots.

Are they still playing?

If you got banned, it either means that you violated rules multiple times or used instaban word.

Because Riot has employees that can't figure out how to remove trolls and allow decent people to vent their natural frustrations with in game assholes. Despite the fact that the game has a MUTE BUTTON available to EVERYONE to ignore and MUTE the in game chat..... In game UNPREVENTABLE TROLLING is 100% allowed while venting frustration in a CHAT BOX anyone can MUTE is bannable... This shows you the naive and childlike mentality of Riot.
