I'll try a different way of explaining my point, since you're not getting it and still treating me like I'm crying about a perma. I took a lot of time to write this, so please show me the courtesy of not jumping to conclusions and reading it thoroughly.

Firstly: A perceived threat in the environment can be seen reliably putting most humans into a "fight or flight" state. From an evolutionary perspective, this behavioral characteristic made us more fit to survive, which is why most people still display it (and also why so many people have bad anxiety). While in this elevated state, few people are calm and most people are alert, anxious and very quick to react emotionally. People are in this elevated state when driving too, which explains road rage. Basically, with statistical significance, humans are reliably observed displaying high emotionality and acting irrationally in an elevated state caused by a perceived threat. This is known and accepted both scientifically and anecdotally. It goes without saying that competitive environments evoke this state as well.

Secondly: League is an extremely well produced game. How beautiful it is, coupled with months (or years) invested into skill building, and a lot of people become **highly addicted ** to this game.

My point: Human nature fuels the predictable display of poor behavior by people in a heightened emotional state. Multiply this by online-anonymity, and it's essentially the core reason why so many people (continue to, and always will) rage and get banned in league. Then, addiction explains why they come back. Both of which are pretty easy things to understand.

A person is responsible for their behavior and actions. End of story. There is no threat. This is a video game. The primary purpose of almost all video games is to entertain the player, and anything entertaining can be addicting. If a person is addicted to a video game to such degree that it's a huge problem for them, they need to seek help on their own. But that is not even close to a normal case. Beyond banning the player Riot doesn't have the capability to prevent the player from creating another account. Would it be the NFL's responsibility if a person became addicted to football? No it wouldn't and the idea of that is just silly.

I find it hard to swallow that a company as smart as riot/tencent is not aware that humans consistently display both of these behaviors. Big businesses like riot constantly look for reliable and predictable sources of income, and what's more reliable than human nature?

Relying on a player, who had all their previous progress removed and account banned, to come back to the same company and start spending money of their own free will is an extremely unreliable notion.

Relying on players not wanting to be insulted in the video games they play on the other hand is an extremely reliable notion. That is why Riot bans players for poor behavior, because pretty much universally no one wants to be insulted while they are trying to enjoy their time in a video game. The more people who enjoy their time in League of legends, the more likely they will stick around (and possibly spend more money). Since people with poor behavior act poorly in lots of games and ruin the game for many players, Riot opts to lose the business of these banned players in order to improve the experience of those not-banned.

Yes, people make their own choices, but you don't think there's something wrong with companies exploiting people who make bad, emotional choices? It's what phishing schemes, telemarketing, con men and so many other shady businesses are bankrolled by.

Riot is not a phishing scheme, telemarker, or conning you. They made a video game and are selling it with a F2P business model. Everything they offer is plain for everyone to see and refuse to buy should they choose to do so. If you choose not to pay anything you can still play the game. If you choose to not to play the game you incur zero, I repeat, ZERO costs with them. There is no termination fee. If you make a bad purchase at wall-mart because you have shitty impulse control that's not wal-marts fault. It's your fault for having shitty impulse control.

I'm tired of people throwing out personal responsibility and blaming literally everything else for their own choices.

p.s. I looked at your match history and you really should play some ranked so you can have a better perspective on how much toxicity really still exists in league.

A person's ranked history has nothing to do with a conspiracy theory with zero proof about how Riot is maliciously banning accounts for the explicit purpose of making money off those banned players.
