Bad internet != rage quitting

I came here today to hopefully shine some light on this problem that is currently ruining some game time for many people across the globe. The ever occurring DC (Disconnect), that sure does ruin people's games but, surely enough, not on purpose. Of course there are going to be games where many people leave due to improper communication with teammates such as rage quitting, or really for whatever reason they felt to leave. In my books, that is a punishable offense especially in Ranked matches and Riot definitely agrees with that. On the other hand however, getting disconnected due to your current ISP being undoubtedly unreliable during a Ranked game AND getting punished for it on the same grounds as Ragers is unacceptable (such as 10 to 20 min queue times added to initial queue for example). As an up and coming networking engineer, I undoubtedly know the possibilities of distinguishing between ragers and legit disconnecting spontaneously from a server. All I ask, is to fix this problem, and not punish disconnections on the same grounds as ragers.

Thanks.

If you are being disconnected frequently enough to be punished for it, then you are at fault.

It is your responsibility to ensure you have a reliable connection before playing. Failing to do so means that you ruin the game for 9 other players when you could have avoided doing so.

If your connection is poor, then don't play until it is fixed.

A working internet connection is a requirement to play the game. In the case of disconnects people are failing to provide that. Leaverbuster doesn't punish individual leaves. It punishes for having an unacceptable rate of leaving games. If that is caused soley by disconnects then you shouldn't be playing on that connection. It is a problem you need to resolve before queuing again.

I see what both of you are saying, but first of all, it takes 3 games in 30 days for leaverbuster to do something. Its COMPLETELY common for people unfortunately enough to be disconnected from a game with in those 30 days after the first offense. You also can't assume the ISP is shitty either. I'm tired of people forgetting that shit happens.. that sometimes.. no.. most of the time technology isn't as reliable as everyone thinks. You cannot assume I have shitty internet, you MUST assume that shit just happens and cannot put the user at fault for it. This is bound for disaster and just makes customers, or Summoners, really mad. I don't have shitty internet, but once.. or twice the internet just decides to not want to work, and you can't say it doesn't either.

Yeah man, it is kind of harsh but i completely think that if your internet DC's periodically you should not be playing. I play at work on an alt account because their internet doesn't stop but it slows down sometimes when backups start. Don't play if you can hold a stable connection and if you do then you should just accept the punishments. They're targeted at people who don't play full games, plain and simple.
