Boosting disguised as coaching

Just got stomped by an obvious smurf in gold with several 20+ kill games in his recent 20, only has 23 games in ranked, and his win percentage is 80%. I also noticed he'd queued with the same guy for the last 10 games or so, while also noting that the person he was duoed with was like silver 4 with a 30% win rate. After the game I confronted him for boosting and he said he wasn't boosting, he was being paid to coach his duo. So in my head I broke it down as this;

Silver 4 player is paying the smurf for coaching. However, the smurf is actually in game with the player and carrying them every game. Is that not boosting?

Boosting is only if someone is on the boostees account playing FOR them to increase their MMR.

If they were duo queued together it isnt against Riots TOS and isnt considered boosting as long as both players are playing on their own accounts.

What you describe is often called duoboosting and is not actually against the rules. Only if the booster plays on the others account it is against the rules.

Stop it. Duoing is not a violation of any rules. Instead of complaining about something that is totally legal maybe learn why a single player is able to get 20+ kills every game and do it yourself.

And also, I though we were believing that a single bad player has more control over the game than a single good player? That baddie should make it impossible for the goody to carry every game, right? Isn't that what we cry about every day here? This board never ceases to amaze me with all these contradictions.

Duo boosting is not technically boosting in the normal capacity. If you want them to conpletely remove the ability to duo in rank, expect backlash.

Basically they should make solo que for solo only especially since flex que exists. In the mean time, duo'ing like that technically isn't against the rules. It is, however, obnoxious.
