XP farming scripts are destroying the integrity of bot games. Riot needs to look at and IP ban them.

I noticed about 6 months ago that a lot of my bot games would have at least one XP farming script account in them. Usually they have a stupid name that is a string of characters, take smite, and just wandered around the jungle dying to camps. It wasn't too annoying I have been playing for years so it didnt really effect my games, just made them slightly longer. The past two weeks when leveling a second account I have found that there are between 1-4 accounts using XP farming scripts per game. They are more basic than the old jungle ones, they dont buy items, they dont auto attack, they just run up mid and feed kills to the A.I. mid. That's more than just annoying, it destroys the integrity of those games. I have won plenty of them, but if you get matched with four scripts capable of feeding 22 kills in 19 minutes good luck. Now imagine the player in the game is new (the only games new accounts can play). They dont know what is happening, only that the game is impossible to win. I played with a player doing their FIRST EVER game today, and we had 3 xp farming script accounts. I had to carry them through the game and explain what was happening at the same time.

Is there any monitoring by riot to detect this behavior? My guess is no because of how rampant they are. Queue up for beginner bots and you will be matched with at least one player who has a random name, doesnt interact with the team and either runs up mid feeding or goes into the jungle and dies to camps. So if Riot doesnt monitor and ip ban these accounts they should. It is poisoning the games of new players so that some loser can do nothing and get paid for a level 30 account. I always report these accounts, but sine most of the time the other players are 1) other bots not reporting, 2) new and dont know whats happening or how to report, or 3) just dont report I think that its probably wasting my own time to report them.

Please upvote this if you have seen this happen in your games and want something done to address it. It should be easy to IP ban accounts where a player plays multiple games with 0 kills, 0 cs, 0 items purchased, and >10 deaths at the very least.

Thanks,

TattooedOni.

Ip bans are more harmful than beneficial and easy to circumvent.

They ban bots in waves to prevent scripters from figuring out how the detection works.

The sheer number of these accounts that are active and using the exact same script makes it appear that banning them in waves is too slow or too small to resolve the issue.

Yes they ban them in waves. They track the accounts to their creators and seek legal action against them. They're taking down whole sites, not just one account at a time.

I wonder when we will eventually reach the point where "oh, they ban them in waves" is no longer an acceptable answer. Seeing bots in every co-op vs AI game for the last 2 years makes it pretty questionable.

I played 10 games on two accounts, one level 55 one level 30.

The level 55 account only had 2 games with an exp farming script in it, and each time it was only once. That is less than 1 per game and pretty reasonable and not too much of a problem.

The level 30 account on the other hand had 2 games with 0 exp farming scripts, 3 games with 1, 3 games with 2, 1 game with 3, and 1 game with 4 in it for a total of 16. For that account it was a minimum of 1 per game average, and 38% of the available matchmaking slots were taken by and exp farming script and not a real player.

Unfortunately its the lower level (new players) accounts that are matching with the most frustrating situations. I think every player will probably have a different experience and this is an extremely small sample size, but I do feel like even if my exact metrics were made up from anecdotal experience it at least illustrates the problem. Too many xp farming bots, wasting players time and causing major setbacks for new players learning.

They won’t ip ban, and do bot bans in waves.

So just to raise curiosity for myself does xp farming have something to do where a player somehow raises to a high level before he/she even has a chance to engage with the other players that is still a low level? i ask this cause i had a scenario where a player reached level 3 even before the minions where released bearing in mind that no player on the other team had died yet and he/she had not purchased any items yet.
