In my opinion, if a player gets banned, their money should be refunded.

I've seen people spend over 300 dollars on the game, and that kind of money should be refunded. It's almost like stealing. Now I'm aware that we agree to the terms and conditions every patch, but come on, getting banned shouldn't be a reason to lose 300$ worth of content. Imagine if you were toxic in multiplayer on a dlc for a game. Would it be fair to take away the dlc for the person that was toxic, and not refund them their money? Now remember, this is my opinion, that doesn't me it right or wrong, it makes it my opinion.

Thank you for your answers everyone, your points have been taken into consideration and I've changed my opinion about this system.

Turns out the system is correct, I was just having troubles applying a real life system to video game format. Basically, if you order a hotel room, start shouting your ass off in said room, and get kicked out, you won't get your money back. Same with league.

May I ask you, if you voluntarily leave the game and never play it again, should you be refunded your money as well? What you're paying for is temporal entertainment. Pay only what you think your experience is worth.

Paying money is not a "I get to ignore the rules because I paid" pass. And honestly I think it's a damn good lesson for people that do crap like that IRL, hopefully giving them a chance to really think about what they're doing or saying before they bend and screw themselves over in something that would have REAL consequences in their lives.

Its not riots fault if you're a toxic ass hat in game.

Lauchmelder2/29/2016, 1:12:40 PM3 votes

If you can't act like a decent humand being then you deserve to lose your money. If you go to a Festival but can't behave and you get thrown out you won't get your money back either.

So basically: Act like a decent human being or burn your money

If they spent money they probably used what they purchased (ie. skins, champions etc). So a refund certainly isn't in order. And unless they were extraordinarily toxic, they were warned many times before being banned, so it's really hard to argue that Riot owes these people anything.

I doubt you will get much support in this opinion of yours.

If you got banned from any game, you'd still have the DLC you just wouldn't be able to play it because you'd be banned lol. You're still the proud owner of that DLC tho

seriously how come ppl up with the idea that riot steals money?

thats like you buy a car. and the car breaks one day. and you're like "give me my money back for the car or i sue you for stealing it" WHAT!? if you make a car crash and they take away your driving license THAT IS YOUR FAULT THAT YOU CANT USE YOUR CAR NOW noone stole shit from you YOU BOUGHT THAT CAR/SKIN ON YOUR OWN WTF???

What about the people who pay $300 and have to put up with absurd people. I wish Riot charged people $300 for the trouble of having to reform their account because they aren't mature enough to show basic decency to human beings.

Actually people get vac banned on steam all the time. And they lose access to entire games.

should you get back all your fines for fraud when you get out of jail too?

HoukagoFapTime2/29/2016, 1:34:56 PM1 votes

That thing where you click "accept" every once in a while clearly states that the account is not yours and that they're just lending it to you.

if a person gets arrested, should they be refunded the money they spent on clothes, video games, movies, their tv, phone, any consoles, computers, or other entertainment systems?

you bought it. you knew you'd lose it if you got banned. if you want to keep all your stuff, don't sell crack to kids be an ass in chat.

If it serves as a deterrent from being a scumbag, then good. Restaurants and other public venues reserve the right to kick you out if you're disruptive or obnoxious and ruin the experience for everyone around you, even if you paid for your ticket, food etc.

Let's put it this way, if your behavior causes people to quit and therefore put a dent in Riot's profits by ruining the fun for other people, they have every right to ban you without a refund, just like any other business.
