Of all the things Riot has the power to do, one of them isn't a banned words list in game. But they have one for your chat messages outside of the game? That doesn't make sense. How about adding a banned words to the in game chat. I thought I heard everything under the sun at a High School lunch table but no. Just wait till your teammates' flames you with anti-semitic views and called you everything that your not and it not get the ****. [slayer-jinx-unamused]

They'd rather not give toxic players any indication of words they have to weasel around to still be toxic. I don't blame them. If you have to question whether it is or isn't banned, or why it is or isn't banned, chances are you're better off not saying whatever it is in the first place.

When I see hate speech, I normally smile, cos I know they'll get banned. I also can mute them, so none of their extremists views will bother me anymore.

well technically by the faq , and this is total lawyer mode , contract stuff here

there is a loophole , and i couldnt find anything to cover it , probably because i didnt look hard enough , but if you look in skip restrictions section of the instant feedback system faq , it says and i quote "We have a zero-tolerance policy for extreme negative behavior as well as extremely offensive language and remarks made in game towards other players."

so technically , some words , as long as they are not directed towards other players , could still be said just fine , now of course , thats not how the system actually works , nor should it allow people to squirm through , but doesnt context actually matter?
