How can a player go from Ranked 4 honor to Rank 0 (locked) in bad/negative game? Why isn't my honor being decreased if I am getting reported? Why am I climbing honor and then after one game I am losing my end of season rewards? I just hit rank 4 honor, but then within a couple days my honor is locked? If I am a habitual negative player, then why was I climbing in honor and not getting demoted in honor?

I hear constantly that you don't get a chat restriction for just one game but it is a history of being negative. If that is the case then answer the above questions. Before the honor system was implemented, Riot even stated that when you get reported for bad behavior you will decrease in rank. That has never happened to me, but the opposite has happened. I am continually climbing in honor.

Does anyone else feel like this system is completely broken. I received a chat restriction two weeks before season ends and now I have no way of getting my end of season rewards all because of one game of negative behavior.

Think about it this way. You have a clean history of not shop lifting. But suddenly you start stealing, and get punished. All those 20+ years of not shop lifting doesn't prevent you from getting punished.

Cos it is programmed to just decrease upon punishment.

This counter intuitive result that you describe is something Riot is aware of, and probably working on a fix.

It's not completely broken, but certainly can use some clarity and transparency improvements.

I don't like the attitude of the circlejerkers on these forums. It's why I rarely post here.

I spoke to a Riot employee through their live support chat earlier this year. I received a 10-game chat restriction for asking a team mate to explain their reasoning behind doing an action. For example, "why did you run to the opposite side of the map instead of taking infernal dragon?" "why did you tower dive a 1v3?" "why are you running to farm top lane when the enemy is destroying our inhibitor?" I never insulted them. I never flamed them. I never said anything else except asked them to explain their actions.

The Riot employee essentially agreed with me that it was a silly violation, but couldn't revert it.

They told me that the community has the power to change the current punishment system.

The problem is circlejerkers on these forums just regurgitate the status quo, instead of taking action to change the system. They just accept the harsh system for what it is and affirm "oh you deserved what you got" "oh yeah, that can get you banned nowadays"

No one wants to work to make "what's considered punishable" more relaxed and less stringent.

I don't know why everyone has become so complacent. Riot has shown time and time again that with enough community "interest" change can happen.

So let's work to reform the current system into a better idea of what is "toxic" and what isn't.

It would also be a good idea for people to only drop 1 Honor level for every 10-game chat restriction. And drop to Honor 0 for every 14 day ban. It's not fair that an Honor 5 or Honor 4 person who worked all season long to gain that honor, to just lose it all over a single game of minor frustration (such as the 10 game chat restriction I received as explained above). That's not 1 month or 2 months worth of work. It's a full 11 months wasted (Jan-Nov). It's disgusting to have to work 11 months on something just for someone to come along and hit the Delete button just like that. It's inhumane.

Because level 2+ is reserved for honorable players. You showed you were dishonorable.

Giving you any sort of warning in the form of honor decrease when reported would just give you a method to learn how to game the system.
