Could we get a list of bannable or offensive words

In a recent game, I told my botlane to watch for my MIA pings when Akali roams and to not play like "monkeys" I've seen now some stories that monkeys is a slur for black people... although I don't know why black people wouldn't heed a MIA ping?

Fortunately I wasn't reported or anything, but I was wondering if Riot could give us a good list. SOme things like "kys" I wouldn't have known what it means if not for reading the boards... the analagous expression I've used is "Eat poison" and usually it's more playful and with friends? Especially since there's an automated system for banning.

Just don't be a dick.

You could easily point out that your MIA pings indicated that botlane should fall back without calling them monkeys. Calling them monkeys in no way adds to the effectiveness of your communication, and can easily detract from it by picking a fight or tilting your teammate.

Riot will never release an exact list because the more unsavory players will just use that list to skirt the edge of punishable and not punishable. Just don't do or say anything that you know will just tick people off and you should be fine.

Just don't insult people. You could steer completely clear of "bannable words" and still get banned because it's not about specific words, it's about intent. I mean that's language. If you intend to insult someone or hurt their feelings, Riot will punish you for it.

I think ppl don't understand. I don't care what is offensive to you so much as I care what is deemed offensive to Riot?

For example, I've seen ppl type things in chat that champ XYZ is "cancer" or "AIDs" ...

The reason I want to know RIot's thoughts is that they can ban/punish your account; If one of you were in my game and offended, well we could talk about it or agree to disagree etc. but you don't lose out on honor rewards or risk your account.

The worst words are gonna be kys and racial slurs. And this varies from server to server. As others have pointed out, just don't be a dick. Trying to find alternate ways to insult isn't good behavior. Instead, realize that not everyone plays with the exact same skills you do. If they didn't heed a single ping, ping two or three times, but avoid spamming, as players either mute or become desensitized to the stimulus.

Hint: If a word is blocked by the filter in these forums, it's bannable in the game.
