Looking for advice on honor.

I'm trapped at honor 0. Despite reforming, I'm hardstuck and have been for 4 months. Complaining doesn't fix anything so im gonna ask for advice. Other than playing diff roles, what would you guys recommend on getting out?

I can quote riot saying: "not saying anything doesn't demonstrate reform"

but the playerbase says opposite.

I'm just curious, what should I do? I just had a lapse in judgement and I utterly regret it, but it still haunts me.

Thanks.

You show reform and gain progress fastest when you use chat efficiently and politely to further the game's goals - i.e. strategy, callouts, etc.

You slow down in progress greatly if you have borderline punishable games or infrequent games where you're toxic even if you aren't punished again.

Edit: I didn't properly greet you. EDIT 2: The referenced threads are now deleted ; ;.

Hey there my suggestively named vegetable,

Here's what a rioter had said most recently which backs up previous statements he's made.

If dishonorable players start the game with /mute all and don't type a word, will they regain honorable status over many many many games?

[{quoted}](name=Riot Tantram,realm=NA,application-id=ZGEFLEUQ,discussion-id=EpIx4I2p,comment-id=000300040000,timestamp=2018-01-11T00:53:40.473+0000)

Yes.

I understand it can be confusing, because he did say "Just showing up isn't enough" earlier today, before he answered the above question.

Just be nice, use "wp", "gj team !", "we can win this !" things like that, be nice and respectful, no swearing, no spam pings and so on, you'll be back to honor 5 in a few months :)

I'm gonna quote one of my old reply about the same subject ( not saying you are like the people linked but you might want to have those informations ) :

There are a lot of examples on this forum, where people don't get why they don't gain honor back, like this one, or this one that are both recent, i linked tantram's comment each time, in those examples you can see they clearly think that they are doing well but in fact they are not. I suspect a lot of people that are in this case are doing the same thing, maybe even without being conscious of it, some sentences are and will be considered unsportsmanlike by the system. I guess people must remain unreported during a certain time, or be honored by a lot of players to gain back. But once you've been punished, If you want to level up, you have to be honorable in game 100% of the time.** Even one game of dishonorable behavior can derail your progress. If you are being validly reported, it can slow your honor progress, up to virtually no progress being made. If you misbehave in games still, but it's too rare/infrequent for you to deserve a full-on punishment, you may still not be progressing in honor.**

EDIT: another recent example, and another one, both from today.

Avoid any negativity whatsoever. Even if you don't get punished for it, it can impede your climb.

Posted this in another similar thread, but the short version:

Don't type ANYTHING AT ALL in chat EXCEPT For: "gg", "gj" and "nice"

Nothing else.

Get commended each game for anything that other people like from you. I don't think there's another way
