My IGN is "Fiora Rekt You", My account has been permanently banned since ~ 2 days ago. I send both a support ticket and tweeted on riot support page. My problem is as follows: My account status was completely clean before this incident. I have received the riot kayle skin along with the summoner icon and I have received the gold border and the victorious skin, all of which aren't rewarded to players with a history of bans or chat restrictions. When I asked the twitter support they were really active and actually read my messages. At first they said homophobic slurs aren't tolerated and I could get a perma ban right away even if my account was perfect. After a few messages I explained how what I said had nothing to do with homophobic slurs. I told him that my offense is a normal verbal abuse, not that it is ok or anything. Anyway, they said even normal abuse is bad but they understood the fact that it wasn't anything homophobic, and they told me to send a support ticket. This is where my problem lies. I sent a support ticket but no matter what I wrote in there, I keep getting the same answer which drives me nuts: "we gave you a chance to reform but you didn't" So I decided to make my messages more detailed in order to explain that I got perma banned right away without getting a chat restriction or temporary suspension. But to my shock the person just responded in the most generic, almost automated responses, as if I was merely begging for a ban lift. He kept on repeating the same phrase just in different ways, "You had been given chances to reform but you didn't", which as I said before absolutely didn't happen. I was hoping I would get someone from riot games to read this post and reply to me saying something other than that because, and I mean no offence, that is the worst support service I have ever received in my entire life. If the person responsible for reading the messages doesn't read them, how is he supposed to help anyone? Anyway, to make things clear, I am not saying in anyway that verbally abusing some is ok, I am just saying that to perma ban me from my first misstep doesn't make sense especially when as I said no homophobic slurs were included. I am not asking to get scot free, I am asking you to punish me just not an immediate perma ban. I am not a toxic player, I tend to get friend request after every match due to my positive attitude, I just had a bad 2 games in a row because they had the same person on my team and he tilted me really hard. Certainly my fault for not containing my anger, but as I said, give me a chance to reform. I send a complaint to twitter before about reporting someone and him not getting banned and I got this reply :" The goal is to reform the player and if he doesn't reform to remove them". That's all I am asking, chat restrict me or temporary suspend me, I am in no way willing to do this again. Thanks for your time, and please, before replying do check my account for the summoner icon, the kayle skin, the border, and victorious skins, and check to see if I haven't played for two weeks straight, you will see I am not lying. Thanks again for your time.

We will not be changing our views on toxic behavior, and cannot make an exception in this case. I realize that this is hard to accept, but all players are subjected to the same standards of behavior. If you want to play League again, feel free to make another account since the punishment is tied to this account.

In looking over this, I have the feeling I'm missing something. You might be better off continuing to work with Player Behavior on this, as they have access to all your logs. Just remember, if there's any context missing, it makes it much more difficult for us to help you, which is what we're here for.

I'm sorry something like this happened to you. Riot Support has been fishy at best. You are not the only one who was met with nearly automated responses and failure to actually dig deep into the issues. Regardless of what you said in game, the fact that they don't ban or punish everyone the same way shows me a highly flawed system. Player Behavior and Moderation is just a term for a small team who refuse to reverse any action by their automated punishment system even though it is flawed.

Now, nothing can actually be done here. Riot's TOS protects them from any action they perform, mostly. Even if you feel it is unfair, they won't reverse, regardless of what you type here or what they read elsewhere. Riot has shown time and time again that play punishment is something they don't take seriously. They may claim to, but the automated system is proof of that. Several companies with larger player bases have large teams that go over each offense carefully, it is their only job. Having an automated system is great for large player bases, but if their is no follow up by real human beings then all it ends up being is an issue that players have to deal with.

There are people who agree with me, and their are people who don't, but what really speaks truly is that if this debate is still happening 6 years later, then maybe something is really wrong here. I'm not saying im completely right, but if so many players are upset about this, maybe riot should take a long look at their player support and see what the issues are.

Their TOS may indicate that their actions are absolute, but it doesn't mean that what they do is right. Just because they are on the developer side doesn't mean that they "know" any better than the rest of us. Or that somehow they aren't responsible for the outcomes of their actions. The league of legends community is considered by many to be one of the worst out their in terms of player behavior. This exact point upsets me, because if you look at other aspects of our community, you will see amazing content creators all across the board, whether its art, youtube, comics, fanfiction, etc.

Our community isn't nearly as bad as some say it is, but it does have some issues that other game communities don't have to deal with near as much. Toxic behavior used to be something that CoD was identified with, but nowadays League of Legends is something synonymous with toxicity. And in my opinion, it is as much Riot's fault as it is our own. Players tend to get angry in a competitive team based game, thats true. But a game that has so many options to report a player with ease after each game, and a system that will flag your account for punishment based simply on a chat that can be misread; How can any league of legends player be safe?

The answer is to simply mute all players in the game in every game. And only play the game when your internet/computer is perfect. So now we know how to never get punished, but lets look at the consequences of doing that. First of all internet and computer issues pop up no matter what you do, and if your game crashes and you go afk, you can get reported, and possibly punished. Secondly muting all players can be detrimental. The Smart Ping system is not a full proof system of communication, and in fact using the chat can lead to strategies that help your team win the game. in lower tiers of play the chat is less useful, but once you hit higher tiers you almost need it. You then need to risk getting punished for little to no reason just to have defined communication in a game.

To those who would say just don't say mean things, I am going to respond with this... A player that I know in real life was playing with me in a normal draft game last year. During the game we were using playful banter back and forth and he used a word that means something completely different where he is from. He is from Australia, and for those of you from their you most likely know what word I'm speaking of. He said that word to me, which means friend/mate in his country. and because of that, another player on our team reported him, and he was Chat Restricted. Now I know this isn't all that bad a punishment, but it really upset him. He is the nicest of people and is never toxic in chat, and was speaking to me specifically. Riot support gave him a generic answer that he was given a chance to reform, which he wasn't.

We are all opinionated, but when so many complain about something, maybe its time for the content creator to take a look at it. Not because they are required to do so, but because as examples to a community, they aught to be morally obliged. More and more video game developers are focused on money more than player interaction, and it is hurting players first and foremost. If you love this game, and something like this happened to you, let me offer you an apology as a member of this community. If you don't agree with any of this, please respond with your thoughts, I'm always open to new ideas and suggestions.
