Unintentionally AFK

I was wondering if I would get banned if AFK unintentionally. My league client froze, but I could still use the mouse but it did not let me close league to reopen. I did CTRL+ALT+DELETE to open task manager but it still did not let me click away so had to ultimately reset my computer. Then It kinda took a while to get back to the game. About 6 minutes late I come back and my team is cussing me out blaming me although they all lost lane before I left. I just really do not wanna get banned, I did not afk on purpose.

Riot understands that real life always takes priority to video games, and so there is a fair amount of wiggle room for you to leave a game without getting an actual punishment. Even though this doesn't fit your case they have built the system around it. I personally end up going AFK about once every 4-6 months, and have never felt at risk for a punishment over it.

Since you went AFK due to a computer issue I would highly recommend trying to identify why it happened, particularly if it happens to you again. Making a habit of going AFK, even if the cause of going AFK was out of your control, is punishable and should be avoided at all costs.

If it's your first time then no you're fine. The system has built in % of accepting you to be afk or even leaving the game as it recognizes that certain things like hardware/internet failure or real life happens and can't always be predicted. I probably have something that happens to me causing me to be either partially afk/quit the game once every 100-200 games and I have never been even remotely reprimanded for it.

If you make a repeating habit of it, then you will be punished accordingly.

It doesn't matter why you went afk it matters that you did. However the system takes into account that life happens so unless you make a habit of afking you'll be fine

This happened about a week ago to me and I ended up restarting my PC and lost a placement game because of it and it was a remake by the time I got back. I hope this never happens again.
