So riot has implemented a remake in the game, which is nice. However it doesn't fix the problem of people just leaving the game early. Its been a while so my recollection might be bad but back in early season 4 there was problems where the games were ddosed and if you lost then it wouldn't be counted against you. In ranked where a player has to play a 4v5 that team shouldn't have to loose 20 LP each. Maby like 5 LP and the person who leaves gets 30 Lp deduction.
Yep, Loss Prevention is still a thing, but it's reserved for server-wide issues that affect a large number of players. Loss prevention, when enabled, affects all players on the server, which means reduced gains for wins that would otherwise be legitimate. Allowing players to enable loss prevention themselves would lead to people gaming the system with a duo partner to maximize LP gains and would undermine the integrity of ranked.
I understand it doesn't prevent anyone from leaving in frustration in the middle of the game, the best thing you can do about that is report the person who left. If they leave more games, or exhibit other negative behaviors, they will be punished.
