How close to permanent ban?

About 10 months ago i got my first 14 day ban. I have stayed clean ever since until now, when I have received 2 chat restrictions in quick succession. I'm wondering if my next ban is permanent. I will reduce my toxicity nonetheless but it would be nice to know whether or not my next ban would be permanent

We can't be perfectly accurate, but if you got to two chat restrictions than your behavior likely reset entirely, meaning that your next punishment -- if not for a behavior that earns an escalated penalty (such as hate speed) -- is likely to be a 14-day ban, and then a permanent ban.

Don't assume this is the case though, as we can't precisely determine the details of your personal behavioral history nor your exact standing within the system.

The exact amount of time to drop down a punishment tier is not disclosed publicly by Riot. It will be a few months of clean behavior at least. If you already received a 14 ban at any point, tread very carefully from now on. You can still received a permaban for ban behavior, and you will not be able to contest it at all as 14-day ban is considered to be a final warning.

Remember: Mute is a wonderful thing. No matter how obnoxious someone is, it is more satisfying to mute and report then insult back, as you walk away unscathed while they get banned. Vengeance is okay, but victory is far sweeter. I have played this game for 4 years and never even received a warning for toxic behavior (only punishment was low-priority queue from leavebuster), it is very possible to play the game and be active without getting in trouble, just make sure to mute and report. Also if need be, remember that you can think or say anything you want about someone as long as you don't type it out. I have cursed out plenty a player in my head, but never type it out so there is no problem.

So, based on what the support system says, you have gone down the punishment ladder, which means after your 14 day temp ban, Riot deemed you worthy of downgrading your escalation status.

HOWEVER, based on punishment escalation systems this is the order:

10 Game Chat Restrict 25 Game Chat Restrict 14 Day Temp Ban Permaban

In theory, you are two infractions away from a permanent ban, however, it might be possible to get escalated further if you have a history of punishments. I recall seeing some posts where there were repeat offenders who would go from chat restrictions to 14 day temp bans, then go back down to chat restrictions and then go back up to temp bans and keep yoyo-ing back and forth and Riot just slaps them with a permanent ban because they keep repeating the same kind of behavior over and over again and Tantram comes into the thread and is like "this is your 9th punishment. Permaban was rightfully issued. This will not be reversed."

So, the safest bet is that you should really try to follow the guidelines of chat... ie if it's not for the purposes of creating teamwork and cooperation, then don't type it. Riot has said many times that the primary purpose of chat is to help facilitate cooperation and create teamwork. Don't clog it with arguing with teammates, don't be negative, don't harass people, don't flame people, etc...
