"We lost this game" League Mentality - The AFK Mentality
I find it funny how players within games will play with the mentality of "Oh we're going to lose because they have more kills than us". Being honest, I believe its this mentality that keeps teams from winning. Sure, you can mute players once you see signs of negativity, but it doesn't help with the fact that the negative player themselves is still... negative! [zombie-brand-facepalm]
I just played a game in which my team was only a few kills behind, perhaps 4 or 5 kills from the enemy team and our Camille JG had just died her 5th death. At this point, we were pretty even in terms of turrets and objectives. Our gold was not lacking either. For the most part (even according to OP.GG), both teams were pretty even up until around the 20-minute mark when Camille decides to AFK after her 5th death. (Camille's end game score was 4/5/5, so I don't really understand why she felt the need to AFK.)
Camille says something along the lines of "We're definitely not going to win now" and proceeds to AFK. My team does a good job in team fights, trading 3 deaths for 3 kills within our 4v5s and perhaps if Camille was there we could've... I dunno... Maybe had a higher chance of winning? [zombie-brand-mindblown]
I also find it ridiculous that ranked games with an AFK still takes away the same amount of LP as a proper 5v5 game (as it should be). It's obviously something that the rest of the team does not have control over. Of course, there are cases where 4v5s and 3v5s are won, but most of the time it puts the team with the AFK at an obvious disadvantage already. I don't understand why people don't play the game for the fun of it (at the very least) if you can't win. "Oh I'm not wasting 40 minutes of my life to lose. I want to win." But in the end, it's a game to most. Unless you're making a living playing in the LCS, I recommend you play games for their purpose: To entertain.

You're playing the game knowing you're going to spend a good amount of time playing it. If you can't commit to it, don't play it. Of course, there are exceptions such as unexpected appointments, but for the most part, you're not going to play knowing you're going to have to leave in the next 10-20 minutes.

You're going to be punished either way. People are going to report you, you're going to have a penalty such as LB queue timers or temporary/permanent bans. If you're playing Ranked, you're going to lose LP either way (this is assuming you think you're going to "lose", you negative Nancy). So if you look forward to being both punished and losing LP, go for it, man. I'm not your mom. [slayer-jinx-unamused]

The experience helps you improve. Maybe you're losing for certain reasons, and please don't just blame your team because that's not going to get you anywhere. You blaming your team is just going to start a war. Don't believe me? OK HAVE FUNNN~ Oh wait, you can't because you're in constant heat from rage and tilt. Not so fun isn't it? But if you're losing because you're having trouble sidestepping from those projectiles and snares, keep that in mind and work on it during the game or in the future. If you're losing because "your team won't help you or give you ganks" then learn how to work around them. Come up and give them a gank, maybe they'll return the favor. If you're losing because you have an AFK, bring them here bwahaha. You know the pain :D

What else could you be doing, honestly? You're playing this game because you're bored, have nothing to do, or procrastinating. You're most likely just going to be doing unimportant crap if you decide to AFK anyway. Hop on YouTube or continue procrastinating (yes, I know y'all do this). At least be committed to this occasional unfortunate game of yours and move on with life.

You might be able to win, being completely honest. I've had several bad games where I've been flamed and spam pinged and called horrible names. You know what I did? Muted them all and continued playing. I have never intentionally left a game out of rage. It's actually won me some games I thought I completely would have lost. Let your team carry you once in a while, man. If they start saying mean things, just mute them. Play some music and just play the game. You can't be put into perfect teams all the time. Try not to upset those ill-mannered players and just do you. I'd rather just play the game and not let my day get ruined than fight with players for 20 minutes and get punished and have my day be complete garbage. Let that extremely tanky Garen
carry you. You don't have to be butthurt about it. Your pride can back off once in a while.
