If you wish to talk to your friend, use the /whisper or /reply functions.

If you didn't wish to say hate speech to everyone on your team, you shouldn't have used game chat. Hate speech has no place in a game with strangers.

Hate speech has no place in League and is definitely something you will be banned for. If you're going to use hate speech while talking to a friend, use /w (insert summoner name), do not put it in team chat. The moment you put it in team chat, you subject your other teammates to that kind of speech, and they have every right to report you for it.

Even the people that don't find what you wrote offensive, if they've ever been punished for speaking like that, it gives them a sense of satisfaction reporting a random stranger for it, knowing that they will get punished for it.

You always have to be on the lookout for potential immaturity.

Bans are actually done manually, not automated. The system just flags them for manual review.

also can i mention that Riot has a perfectly functional chat filter system and muting system, and if people don't want to be exposed to this "hate speech" they can use chat filter or mute the "offender" but people can int or actually be toxic or troll and hurt others but not use a few key words and get away with it.
