Workings of Custom skins

I've been using custom skins for a while lately (don't worry they don't interfere with any game play) and they are pretty cool. I've watched a video about custom skins and they said that there was something that disallowed the creation of new skins. I've even looked at the multiple custom skins out there and Ornn custom skins haven't been implemented. I am just wondering if custom skins work for reworked champions such as Xin Zhao. Some feedback would be nice.

I think Riot changed the file type of skins and stuff so when they get altered, Roit detects it and they would possibly ban you. This is just my guess based on what I've heard.

Using skins there are a couple things to be careful of:

Using a Riot created skin or a recolor of a Riot skin is against the rules. If the skin program has any additional functions, it's probably against the rules. The custom skin can't have increased gameplay clarity (visible hitbox or whatever), because that's against the rules.

If your skin program uses completely original skin ideas, without any other functions, and it doesn't potentially impact gameplay, it's still possible to receive a ban for 3rd party applications, just because it's a 3rd party application.

There shouldn't be anything preventing the creation of custom Ornn skins. At least, I know of no function that would prevent it.

Custom skins are considered "Use at your own risk". Some programs, such as Wooxy (sp?) have been conditionally allowed, others are outright banned due to add-ons and scripting included in the program.

And even programs that are currently allowed may end up banned later.

Using a skin viewer that allows use of official skins is outright banned due to copywrite and licencing.
