Tipsy? Don't play...

I shall be brief.

If you and friends are drunk, smoking, or smoking weed, please do not for a moment decide that it's a good idea to go into a ranked game.

In one of my matches, our bot lane and top lane were a three-man premade. Which is fine. Except that they personally admitted they were stoned when in the match, and also that they had high ping. This caused them to disappear for the first 6 minutes of the game because they were 'rebooting' to see whether the internet would improve, which it did. But why did this even matter, when 9 minutes in three turrets were gone (mid wasn't doing great either), and, you guessed it, we lost the match by surrendering at 20 minutes?

Said people weren't trolling. They genuinely apologised later. And I appreciate that. However, this still was freelo for the enemy team, and a very tilting experience for me. You see, lots of people play League for fun when drunk or stoned, but en masse in groups of three, wrecking ranked games like that? Well, why?

So let this be your kind reminder to please not play League of Legends when your wits are less than alert...

Last I checked this was still a game, and every game ever made is better when drunk, or somehow impaired.

DO NOT TELL ME WHEN I CAN AND CANNOT PLAY.

I play video games to relax and get away from work/school.

If I want to slam a beer or 9 and smoke a blunt before a couple ranked games, tough luck buddy, that's what I'm going to do. Matter of fact, that's how I normally play this game. The banter and toxicity in chat is often times so rampant that being high or drunk is the most pleasurable way to play. It's bad enough riot polices what people say in-game, the last thing I need to get banned for my state of mind.

What? Do you recommend a breathalizer installed on everyone's computer before they play this super serious video game? Don't be such a stiff, OP.

people can play drunk or high or blind if they want. you aren't the boss of anyone. deal with it.

Could be an excuse. I've been drunk, tipsy and/or stoned and it hasn't impaired my game-play in any negative way.

I should add to stay away from Normals too. Keep your 420 to customs ty.

I play when I'm tipsy all the time and it's fine. Sometimes I even play better.

However, if I drink too much and am drunk, my play declines, obviously. That is why I don't play if I drink too much.

Ehh I think this is more important for ranked than normals though.

I despise these people. If playing support I will often not roam to their lanes as I don't wish to waste my time.

So....what about all the scrubs feeding their faces off who are not high or drunk?

kyocrisis4/4/2016, 7:09:02 AM1 votes

Honestly people can do what they want. If they know it will impair their play however, they should do normal but it's still their choice, and it's still just a game.

I drink when I play. I usually only play ranked. I'm on a 6 win streak right now with almost 60% kill contribution.

good luck with that...

"but I've played some of my best games stoned"

Gimpy894/4/2016, 10:49:27 PM1 votes

but my win rate is higher when drinking with friends.

Playing drunk can for sure make you play worse. As for being stoned, it doesn't make a difference for me.

Maybe if you're new to smoking pot then yes it could make you play worse. It doesn't give me clarity either but it also doesn't cloud my judgement. If anything it settles me down and prevents me from rushing into a bad decision. Its legal where I live so I am biased.
