Returning player, pretty much abused

Hi, I'm a newly returning player, I just picked up the game again. I must have started playing ugh a long time ago now, and I have to say LoL had its issues before and some I see have been greatly improved on like the queue system. However, I may not be the greatest LoL player but once upon a time I enjoyed being a pretty competitive player at a lot of games. This one I play for fun, thus I have no played any ranked games at all and I choose not to.

I'm playing blind 5v5 normal games because I want to have fun and go about my business I certainly tho do not want to throw any games. I seen Jax who was my favorite in the patch notes in what looks like something good for him. So I decided to play him, and as soon as I locked him in it started. "EVERYONE REPORT JAX" something something something, support report him right away, and I was insulted the entire game. I was told I was cancer, a troll, a retard, and that my mother doesn't love me. In general nothing overly terrible I mean I'm 37 years old and have been gaming for longer then likely the majority of players have been playing. That doesn't bother me too much, even tho I clearly was trying and tried following their non stop pings all over the map, the game for me got worse because they basically made me worse.

So I played the entire match because again I enjoy playing and wanted to win and tried to with the best of my abilities. I admit I had 0 kills 9 deaths and 4? assists I wasn't good but I was also running all over the place trying to "fit in". I also was laning with someone who could not avoid damage, I also did not even die the most, not even second most.

Which leads me to the last thing, which is not really about the topic, but this /surrender stuff is crazy. People die twice and they start asking to surrender, I've played in at least 2 matches where we started losing and a couple wanted to surrender. Of coarse we came back and won. Amazing how fast people want to stop playing the game.
