Is it ok to abandon bot as a support if the ADC declared to be hostile towards you?

There are some cases I just don't want to even go near their gaming character and muting doesn't help. There were few games I made the toplaner 60cs ahead with 3 kills instead last season. I know this is considered bad conduct, but sometimes I just really can't do it.

IgNar one of the best supports got to rank 1 in NA because he was roaming a lot. Theres a video breaking down his gameplay. In 48 min game he spend total of 5 minutes at botlane, at other time he was roaming. But he plays blitz , thresh... Suports that can roam and find kills. So its totally ok to roam, in some situations.

I 100% agree with almost everyone here, you are not there to support the adc alone, you are there to support the team. You have to stick by them early, because they have the weakest early game. Once they get ahead and can take care of themselves, or once you've determined that you can no longer be of any help, because they are feeding or just simply not paying attention, Roam. I turned a game around by going to support my Aatrox top lane getting him 40 cs ahead with 4 kills and a turret. You have to be able to make the call yourself. I play mostly damage based supports or things that really help in fights such as Galio Morgana Lux Velkoz Swain Senna this helps get picks on mid laners and junglers. The enemy support will try to follow you, but if they are always chasing you, that gives your jungle a reason to kill the enemy adc. I think supports are the most fun position in the game, you have to think sort of like a jungler once you decide to roam, so if you're a Sup Main flex jg, this tactic should be easier for you.

I do it if the ADC is toxic. Might as well help the rest of the team win and leave the baby down there to cry on their own. There's no reason to sit in the lane and try to work with someone who just wants to shit on you the entire time and probably won't follow up your plays. Snowballing some tops or mids is better sometimes anyways.

NA rank1 support roams 90% of the time. He's in lane for like .. 4 minutes of laning phase.

Definitely! On PBE it's common for ADCs to be extremely toxic, so I found I benefited most from roaming and helping other lanes (or simply sticking to the top lane or jg if I'm playing Yuumi) if they are flaming me for every little thing or ping MIA at me when I'm still walking from base. In a situation with a flaming/toxic botlane, roaming gets me more kills and assists than if I stayed, leading me to get more gold and being more useful to the team. It's also really satisfying to profit somewhere else without needing the help of the ADC [sg-lulu]

My adc Aphelios last night: "yo Lux, you can't just sit behind me all game man!" (For context, I landed plenty of damage, and backed up behind my minion wave when I was on cooldown cause it's not wise to eat 1500 autoattack damage while you have nothing up...and he started this...at 3:30 on the game clock...)

Me, already done with this kid by 5 minutes: mutes adc and roams mid, netting two kills and setting up dragon

That Aphelios kept being toxic (he started flaming enough that allies in the game started telling him basically to stfu, I did not unmute him to hear his side, he already proved he had no functioning brain cells) and we eventually lost, so in the post game I see all the "report Lux x9 fucking griefing" the was probably spamming instead of playing the game, and tell me again why I even bother playing fucking team based games again?

Anyway...if youre effective elsewhere, where you'd quickly end up useless trying to work with such a genuine dipshit of a player, I don't see why you'd even consider trying to fix stupidity with "what's meta"

Only certain supports i would roam and stay in a different lane to help out. Most of the time if my adc is pinging too much like a doorbell or constantly playing overly aggressive and yet i'm walking back to lane from base he blames me wtf are you doing Lulu/nami etc.

I usually say two lines and if he doesn't obey them why stay in that lane.

  1. Play safe stop engaging when i'm not around
  2. Look at your map lad!

I usually roam to get my jungler ahead if my adc is trash.

Yup, as a sup main i've encountered this many times. Usually i give them 1 warning, something to the effect of: "Keep flaming and you'll lose your sup". Most of the time they still dont listen and keep flaming, even after i start roaming (and getting kills/assists immediately after not getting anything in lane with them)

I won a game by just going top, even as bot got fed. ADC is irrelevant to the game tbh.

Sinful Succubus12/13/2019, 9:03:36 AM2 votes

i only start roaming if i determine that staying is a waste of time either because my adc is a freezer who doesn't want engages of any sort or if i die one too many times in a short ammount of time due to enemy poke. sometimes it pays off.

Pandemic Punch12/13/2019, 12:03:49 PM2 votes

Leave them without asking questions. Follow/Roam with your jungler, see if you can gank mid, see if you can gank top, see if Top is in a super counter match up so you can make the lane more tolerable, contest scuttles from the enemy jungler, keep wards deep in the enemy jungle, or track the enemy jungler.

GatekeeperTDS12/13/2019, 12:21:59 PM2 votes

This isn't bad conduct at all and you did the right thing. As a support main, I help the team where the help is needed.

Quiet Dude12/13/2019, 3:52:08 PM1 votes

You shouldn't hand hold your ADC unless you're playing Yuumi or Taric. If they are in a spot to farm, go help another lane.
