I would like a clarification from either the mods or the Holy Smiter, Himself...

... about what Tantram wrote here

You ban your teammates champ picks You pick non-meta champs to tilt teammates You build those non-meta champs as non-meta as possible (ad mages, etc) You intentionally steal farm You intentionally KS You don't go to the lane assigned, and instead go to interfere with others You leave your team when a teamfight breaks out

i was under the impression that

  1. banning allied picks is allowed and not against the rules

  2. picking non meta and playing non meta was allowed because riot is supposedly not enforcing the meta on the playerbase

  3. farm is not the property of any one lane per se (ex: the support can farm if he wants to _ and_ the lanes can farm the jungle minions at their discretion)

  4. not going to the assigned lane was permitted to a fault under certain conditions (the duo going top instead or everyone going the season 1 setup)

  5. you are allowed to stay back from a team fight if you judge your presence in said teamfight would not help your team's chances of winning it or you are splitpushing at the time.

can you guys clarify them for me? I apreciate it!

Intent is the keyword here.

That dude had the intent to troll for the sake of trolling. He's doing everything you mentioned for the sake of annoying others, which is not ok.

There's a fine line with doing all you mentioned without annoying others. That dude wasn't operating within that line.

There are all correct in general.

If, however, someone consistently does all of these, that shows a tendency to intentionally soft-troll. If I ban an ally's pick and play never-teamfight bot-lane farming Support Singed in one or two games that's one thing -- if I do it in every game with the intention of causing my team to tilt, that's a problem.

Consider it like the chat restriction system. A bit of problematic behavior here and there is fine, but when it becomes a clear pattern of abuse there's an issue.

As Tantram said: "Playing off meta is not trolling or griefing. Trolling or griefing is .. trolling or griefing."

Ultimately, Riot can tell the difference.

When you do all those things at once in a clear effort to troll. That was the context of the thread.
