@Riot: 7 Years.
I have enjoyed every moment of this game since having started. From the very first moment's of meeting the team face to face in the very first video conference shows. It has been a total blast to actually be able to start with a game for once and watch it grow. I feel like I have grown aside League of Legends, it has become an integral part of my life. Also, to be able to randomly connect with others outside of the rift by sheer chance is an experience I wish everyone to experience at least once in life.
League of Legends, as a product, has matured me. It's value is true: it has taught me so much, and has given me endless hours of fun wholesome entertainment, and yet with all of that, it is free! Infinite value in my personal opinion. Your hard work and effort into putting together a meaningful experience to the player may not always go noted by everyone, but trust when I say, there are a great great number of us who treasure your product as priceless, even if they don't realize it, I expect they will at some point.
So many avenues of my daily life has been improved through my senses and awareness from what I have learned from playing League, and I am certain many others can share a similar feeling, as even you yourselves! Listening to many videos, reading various forums and pages from around the global web, and meeting the best of the best through interviews and watching their games, I've come to realize that League of Legends is truly a gift to the world, and we are all drawn to it as a community. I need not link you any videos, one only has to run a short line of text in any search engine to see the love people share with the world they have for League of Legends through their magnificent creations of music, art, cosplay, cinemas, tutorials and vlogs, etc, its so easy for anyone to find content suitable to their needs and tastes, a virtual smorgasbord!
Though we all love playing League of legends, there are those of us who sadly falter at times as members of the community, and contribute to an ever increasing problem of toxicity. Through the years, we have had a few tools at our disposal to effectively combat the sources of negativity that ruin experiences for gamers of different culturing and Summoner maturity. The major issue with inexcusable behavior and the ruination of the Legendary learning experience provided by League is that toxicity spread like wild fire, with intolerable experiences to extinguish both the young and old alike. (I dare say) I hate to think that a mother or father would deem League of Legends inappropriate content for their family because of 1 game featuring rude Summoners with little respect or regard for who they may be setting their performance out for. Worse than that still, a future Pro Player may never exist because of that one game that caused him to turn away from League, "the straw that broke the camel's back" as they say.
Through these seven long years, your attention to this issue has never lacked, and your sincerity was always genuine. Taking Surprise Party Fiddlesticks on a tangent, the dedication you have shown to us as the player base. The amount of devotion the Riot Teams put into the aspects of the game is all too evident. Keeping League of Legends as pure and enjoyable an experience is no exception, and as of today, I am most certain it without a doubt is definitely your uppermost priority! I pray you continue this pattern, because all deserve to experience League of Legends' true value!
At this moment in time and to my regret, I have become one of those 0.006% of individuals "negative enough" to be considered not worthy of this experience any longer. The individuals I mentioned above who could cause such disastrous ripples throughout the community whom you have empowered the community to cast our voice to confirmed results! I have experienced the message myself quite a few times through the years, that my contributions were appreciated in keeping the game a fun experience as it is meant to be such. I'm not a betting person, so I'll just say I -know- that the players in the game that resulted in this action received a sense of relief and a certain sense of victory in the fight against Toxicity. That is very, very good and beneficial!
I am not here to make my pleas or ask for more forgiveness. I have already filed my support ticket and made my case in earnest attempts, so that will decide my fate. If they decide I get to play, that is my dream. If not, it was a fair cop. As a business minded kind, I understand and completely agree with the decisions to hammer down on pain points that would otherwise hurt the lifetime and health of the game! This is why I choose to support League of Legends monetarily! I want League of Legends to thrive and survive for generations! It is not an MMO. It is more than a MOBA. It is League of Freaking Legends (LOFL)! No other game can claim that monster of a title, and many a game try to emulate its all consuming glory! (My aunt who helped me through my most recent difficult hardship commented on my hoodie saying how that was a powerful message on it!) I feel that... if it is decided that I am not worthy of LoL, then that is the final word. I have to leave. I won't pull a Tyler1. I won't bypass it or dodge the bullet, I'm leaving. It'll be my "exit" wound. Perhaps I'll shift my devotion to Primerica or something hint hint.
All I hope is that you continue to provide the world with a good ol' quality time with better and better content, new and incredible Champions, and a greater experience that will leave the impressions on them like they have on me. I thank you for all the years of what I consider the best damned 7 years of my life. It has been one hell of a ride and I wish it didn't have to be this way. As I get to the tail end of my dark time and make my way to true independence, Challenger is no longer my main concern. Just as Evelynn finally gets her Day, I vanish with the old Evelynn, the old Evelynn is me. Shin Fururi Evelynn. That makes me very sad. But it had to be. 0.006% is insignificant compared to 99.994%. (And yeah, Evelynn's kit was both toxic to the Summoner and the game, it had to be.)
so League of Legends...
Live on. Never die. [katarina-love]
